KatiejmessSurviving a marathon build with this podThis podcast is getting me through a solo marathon build. I love Kara and Des’ chemistry on this pod, and have been fans of theirs since 09. Listening to them talk shop feels less like I’m running alone.
-
aek172Thank youYou both are awesome. I just want to thank Kara for giving a shout out to people in healthcare and in return, thank you both. I’m a Pediatric NP in Austin and often listen to your podcast driving home from work. When I’ve had long and tough days, you always make me laugh, and remind of the joy of running and life.
-
The Bern's MomChaffe and styleYou both make me crack up. Regular runner here and I chaffe like it’s my job. Glide is my friend! Love your style and cool comments, feeling sames on that one!

Bb1954KCMy CommunityThank you Des and Kara for giving me a community. I know I am not your target audience, 70 yo 11 minute jogger, but you have given me a community to enjoy and celebrate running. I’ve run 50+ years, but none of my friends run these days. You give me an opportunity to enjoy running. Thanks.

runnerkimrunBest podcastThanks for creating this podcast. The banter between the two of you is great. Thank you Kara for sharing about what happened to Colt. When my 17 year old son came home from school with sore ribs, I thought he had just hurt himself from his landscaping business. I gave him Advil and sent him to bed. He was worse the next day. I remembered your story and told him about your son and that we need to see a doctor. It ended up being a spontaneous collapsed lung. He’s fine now. I use to live in Boulder and was an assistant coach at Boulder High when Melody Fairchild was a freshman. Great memories!

Julie in IAMy favorite podcastDes and Kara are amazing together! Their informed qopinions, hilarious banter and girl bond keep me excitedly waiting for each episode to drop. As a DIII collegiate athlete from the 90s, I relate to so many of their stories and experiences. Keep up the great work, ladies!
-
Lauren_100A perfect pairI love this podcast. It’s funny. It’s informative. I immediately wait to hear Des and Kara’s take on anything running related before forming an opinion. I look forward to every single episode!
-
StephSpeedstickSandovalMust ListenI absolutely love this podcast! The banter between Des Linden and Kara Goucher is the best…funny and filled with so much insight into the world of professional running. Des was one of the first professional runners who got me excited about following the sport, and hearing her perspective alongside Kara’s is just really cool! Their discussions about their careers and the sport as a whole are both inspiring and incredibly informative. Whether you’ve been running for years or just starting to follow the sport, this podcast is a must-listen.

ScoutterbugYou two inspire me to lace up every day!Guilty of Binge-Listening then drinking Olipop and just got sucked into the sweatshirt swag! Bought and read both of your books. I’m all in! BTW, the Barbie flavor Olipop is pretty good and I hate that I’m saying that! Nobody asked me. Would love to hear a conversation from the perspective of a middle-of-the pack runner(s), like myself. It’s such a different race experience and perspective. I've worked with Elites through my job but run with the masses in my Marathons. Stories in the field can be hilarious. A lot happens out there that the front runners never get to see or hear. Elites, SuperShoes, Testing, Trials, Predictions, Stats…all great info. Love that I’m getting behind and learning about new runners. It’s great the controversial conversations you touch on without degrading the sport. Keep doing what your doing. I’ll be running Boston 2025…Des will finish, the race will be over and you’ll both be completing the recap podcast when I cross two hours later..🤭😉 Great job on NYC Des. Saw you at the Queensboro Bridge. I was a Volunteer Course Marshall at the entrance of the bridge. FYI, the crowd support may have seemed less deep because it was only 39 degrees with windchill in some areas in the morning. 🥶

Boston8184ObsessedLove this podcast. Love Des & Kara. Love their conversations, perspectives and discussions. Love it all.
-
Mr. Ultimate AwesomeThe best running podcast by two super elites that have done that and been there.Amazing. 5 stars. No notes.
-
jonate2000Why are Americans slow in the marathon, despite we invented super shoes? Why did you assume Ruth does not have the capacity to manage her own finances? How do you know she has no understanding of the details within her professional contract? How would you feel if a German Language podcast assumed the same about you?
-
Julie BockeyTransparency!Thank you on the Herron topic. Unfortunately she moved her ‘autism’ dx to the forefront. This is not autism and she’s not taking diwn our community. So thanks but please don’t feel sorry for this behavior.
-
Ryans05Simply the BestBlazed through the first 3 episodes. Des and Kara have great chemistry that provides the perfect insiders view into professional running. Hearing how their mental strength improved as they aged - as they raced! - was a lesson all of us need to hear. Cannot wait for more!! To add on - so many smiles, teary eyes and laughs. These two are HUMAN and can connect to us in an ELITE way
-
Jess KashkaSavoring this PodEvery other week I keep this podcast for my early morning Thursday run with Ollie, my chocolate lab. He keeps me safe, although he wants to be everyone’s friend and I enjoy your conversation. I really love what you put into entertaining us, yourselves and the relevancy of running in today’s society. Thank you Des and Kara!!!
-
breerunningLove that you’ll take on the topics and discussThanks for being willing to put yourselves out there and take on discussions that may stir the fire! Maybe next you should talk (and make Chris talk) about the NYC marathon process to qualify… which is just as much of a mess as some would say Boston is, albeit different.
-
cap3344Love you BUT…Cara - love you BUT, Chris makes a point. You were assigning the right to compete based on "best time". This moving qualification is dumber than the Olympic slot process. You didn't hesitate to bemoan Leonard Korir’s situation. We shoot for a BQ and get it and then they tell us it's not fast enough.Ridiculous.Even a lottery (you do realize we "mortals" have a lottery for NYC) would ease the mind. Disappointed you didn't make it vs disappointed that the real BQ is something other than what is listed. FYI - love Chris' passion and if I was 40 years younger, I'd sign him up as my coach.
-
DlisapatChris McClungI listened today because I saw that Chris would be here. I miss Rogue Running. Is it coming back soon?
-
WvmartineerAmazing runners and fun podcastersKara and Des are fantastic. Chris seems great despite his total fail on Boston Qualifying. His suggested changes offered no improvement. He just came off as whiny.
-
vgallertSuper Pod (IYKYK)Been a follower of theirs since 2012 Olympics, saw Kara in London, Des in Boston in 2015- their knowledge of all things track & marathon is astounding. They provide amazing inside knowledge that gets us all geeked out. Love their banter and quirky different but complimenting personalities. How can you not listen and love this podcast?!!
-
LHK8919BROOKS INVOLVEMENTLove the pod, love Brooks and all they stand for. Working in product development, I would love to have you both interview someone at Brooks who was involved in the development and design of shoes. Maybe a person at Brooks who designed the various footwear Des wears through training for NYC. Base mileage shoe, tempo, long run etc. Would love to hear from Brooks about consumer research that informed what features they add to the shoes (or gear) how they determine pricing, positioning etc. would be an awesome series through training for NYC! Kara- happy to hear your family is on the mend. Very scary situation!

Pittsburgh GSDLove the Pod!I stumbled on to Des and Kara’s podcast maybe 6 months ago and I love it. Because of your fun way of presenting what’s happening in distance running and share a bit about your lives, I recently read your books!!! I love how you both rose above adversity and became beautiful faces of American distance running. Your Olympic commentating, both of yours, were awesome. I do hope it leads to you both doing it for the major marathons and, for sure, the next Olympics on home turf! Would you please consider doing a podcast on what our American distance runners need to do to approach the top step of distance— that is, roads and marathons running, where we continue to finish below the top 5 in the major road and marathon races and do not have times that rival existing races world records? We have the best resources in the world, we train at altitude, we do gym workouts and log the miles that the very best in the world do. So, what is it that we are not doing? Or is it just impossible in this day and age due to genetics. If this is the case, could we be open and talk about it frankly as your podcast. I thank you for what joy you bring to the sport. By the way, Kara, I loved how you got choked up with joy and emotion at Grant’s performance at the Olympics. You’re vulnerability touched us all.
-
QpalzmowThanks!Kara’s and Des’s insight and commentaries help me to be a more informed fan. I feel I can “watch smarter”.
-
Sidney4568Best insight and fun personalities from women who’ve done it themselves!I love their deep knowledge and fun engaging unfiltered takes! REAL personalities shine throughout!
-
NYCdream1A good time even when you’re not runningI enjoy this podcast so much! Des and Kara are filled with fun info, good chats, good insights, and lots of funny movements along the way!! Listen to one of their podcasts and you won’t even realize you are doing chores. Keep it up!
-
writerforfunCan’t get enoughLOVE this podcast! Your perspectives are excellent and can’t get enough of Des’s one-liners that she slips in once in awhile:). Your recaps of the Olympics were AMAZING. Thanks for all you do for the running community!
-
Activegirl59Classic!“Nobody asks us” so why not have that as a name for the wisdom of women who should be asked! Straight talk, knowledge and perspectives from a generation of women runners who have changed the sport!
-
Jamerz21Great listen!Kara and Des are wonderful, makes me excited to watch track and field and the insight they give to marathon running is next level! The Olympic Games coverage was amazing.
-
ElparsonsLOVE THIS PODCAST SO MUCHDes and Kara offer such an amazing mix of knowledge, goofiness, and insight and I am always so happy (and excited to go on a run) to listen to them talk. Normally I listen to podcasts on a higher speed but with this one I want to savor every second so I listen at 1.0 😂
-
MagsfulhamKeep up the laughterI've been listening for a bit now and I love your conversations. You two get me giggling mid run all of the time. The freshie fresh episodes are also making it to the top of my queue. One wish for the future, talk to Olipop about not getting the Citius25 code. I would love to use your discount code on my next order 😉.
-
Baker7689You guys are the best!Kara and Des continue to deliver the freshiest fresh take on all things running - and a lot about navigating life! The Olympic episodes were highlights and I can’t wait to hear their wrap up! I’ll be in withdrawal for the next 2 weeks! Julien
-
Lilsta!True to themselvesI love this pod. It is so rare and refreshing to have female voices in a sports space so commonly dominated by men. These women are insightful and intelligent, sharing their take on all things track and field, sprinkled with real life commentary as well. I appreciate that they accept sponsorship from brands they believe in and products they support. I am a day one listener but the Olympic freshly fresh takes have been next level. The effort made to get these out nightly has not been lost in your fandom!
-
Lindsay_MAThe bestI love this podcast so much. I adore both of them individually, and together they are such a great pair. It makes my runs or drives go by so fast. Really interesting commentary about running events, love hearing their perspectives/experience, and they are just entertaining.
-
Thunder Enlightenin'Des & Kara are the power couple track & field has been waiting forThey aren’t a couple romantically I’m not trying to start anything but their chemistry is great. They are both so knowledgeable and fun to listen to. I’m a runner but Des & Kara have made me a full on track & field fan. 6/5 will pod again.
-
Kelly54673Love this podcast! Thanks for hosting the best podcast, Des and Kara!
-
Fabylee84We’re getting spoiledThe freshy fresh episodes from the Olympics brought it to another level. It was so great to watch track and then get a full break down of what went down. Great chemistry, delightful insight, an amazing podcast overall. I’m gonna miss listening to them everyday next week.
-
michelletherunner10k review Billy MillsI’ve been loving your daily recap. I think NBC missed an opportunity during the men’s 10k to pan over to Billy Mills Gold Medalist of the 10k in the stands either before during or after the race with Grant Fisher holding the flag that would have been a great side by side pic.
-
siofraSo good! This podcast is great, Des and Kara have all the details about races, runners, training and are so funny. I love to listen them on while running.
-
for_the_love_of_itPlease keep this podcast going!I often start laughing out loud on runs because Kara and Des are cackling about something. Everyone should go read both of their books if you haven’t yet. Update August 2024: The Olympics recaps are amazing!!!!!
-

eracism9LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PODCAST!I’ve been listening to Kara and Des from the first episode. I listen to every episode right when it drops. Their combination of inside info, past experience, friendship chemistry, and entertaining takes is so unique. But the Olympic Freshy Fresh episodes have reached a new high. Thank you, LADIES, for sharing your time and running acumen with us. (FULL DISCLOSURE: I’m a CU graduate so Kara has been a She-Ro of mine for awhile)
-
Nat_EmmaThe best!!!Kara and Des are two of the best in the sport. As current/former pro runners and their roles in and around the sport, they bring in depth knowledge and expertise like no other. They pull it all together with some laughs and good fun. It’s like being in a convo with your best friends!
-
