I Found your podcast by listening to Avery’s and jumped ship for a week and a half to listen to yours. One of the benefits of driving truck is I can binge podcasts. Now I’m current on yours and can go back to the Short Term show podcast. Best book lately- The Gap and The Gain. Had a question- best version of the song “Bad Company “

Yeah that’s not an exaggeration. This might sounds weird but going on a walk and listening to STRM is a part of my week I look forward to. It’s not that this show is the most informative podcast, the most entertaining podcast or has the best guests. What this show does do is hit 9/10 in all three of those areas (really 10/10 for entertainment). I mean Cashflow Carl has hosted thousands of guests. Who else could you want to learn from. Probably not someone named Shorthair Luke.

Luke’s podcast has been such a help with learning to self-manage our first short-term rental. The episode on increasing VRBO bookings is particularly great. It helped take us from 90% Airbnb to 50/50 between Airbnb and VRBO. Love the positivity.

10/10 recommend this podcast and Avery Carl’s book on STRs. Together you’ll be setup for success. I’ve read and listen to both and went live with my first listing about a month ago. I’ve now hosted my first 4 guest each left 5 star reviews. Some of the things that guest have loved so far (like kitchen items) came directly from Luke’s recommendations. No need to reinvent the wheel guys, Luke’s laid out a helpful path to follow.

I have been following this podcast for quite some time and attempting to learn the business. We finally got an STR under contract and I am using all the information on here I learned to hopefully be successful. I even took a chance and reached out to Luke on Facebook to ask if he would talk to me to give pointers. He responded almost instantly and we talked through the process. Luke knows everything you could know about STR management, and in his podcast he shares his extensive knowledge. Some people may charge thousands of $$$ for the same information in a course. Luke speaks the truth and does not sugar coat things, which I love! If you are serious about managing your STR, you’ve come to the right place.

If you work in the Short Term industry, own property or think you may want to venture in to this arean, this podcast is a must listen! Luke is not only entertaining and engaging, but he provides vital information in a simplified way that anyone can do! The entertaining delivery is a bonus! I learn something new in every episode!

What an outstanding show!! This is a wonderful, entertaining, and super informative show led by a phenomenal role model and innovator. So appreciative of all of his efforts!!

This show is phenomenal. Luke cuts out all of the “noise” and misinformation out there in regards to this business, and gets down to practical application and strategies that work! I respect that he is honest, comes from humble beginnings and is willing to take the time to invite others on this journey. I have been following Luke and Avery for two years, and because of them we have the courage and knowledge to self- manage our newly built STR. Each episode has a focal point, and he brings in various experts to share their knowledge. Special thanks to Luke for taking your time to add-value to others.

This show is helpful, but if you join their Facebook group, you’ll find they won’t let you ask questions unless you use one of their real estate agents or their mortgage shop. It feels disingenuous especially when they preach there are no stupid questions and seem to want to create a community helping short term rental hosts. No one talks about the paywall to even ask a question.

Thank you Luke for filling the void!!! There are SO many podcasts/forums/videos in the vacation rental hosting space that just aren’t relatable to the average host. Most of us don’t have 100+ properties or large teams of people, unlike a lot of the “pros”. It’s hard to glean advice from people who you just can’t level with - and that is where Luke’s podcast shines. He’s a host, just like us, talking to other hosts, just like us, about all the ways you can self-manage your vacation rentals in the most efficient and effective ways possible. I’ve learned so much and appreciate the wealth knowledge that Luke & his guests share with us listeners.
