MariaSRichardson13My go-to podcast!I’m so happy I found this podcast! The hosts are charismatic and very relatable. Additionally, they’re always so respectful to their guest. The stories that the guests share are vulnerable, shocking and heartbreaking. However, it is equally as helpful and educational to so many people. I especially love the Mackenzie undercover episodes! My jaw is always on the floor for those! I’ve shared and cross referenced this podcast with so many friends, coworkers, family etc. and I can’t wait to hear more!

kiufrraeygg hi kougydsrrPlease stop blowing out microphoneI like the premise of the show and find it interesting, the guests are great at storytelling. It would be great if Mackenzie could please stop blowing out the microphone with her exclamations. It is incredibly difficult to listen to because that is so uncomfortable to my ears and adds very little.

ATL-ListenerFriends to Lovers to FakeSeriously, this is fakest sounding episode ever. I have questioned episodes before (and I see you making a disclaimer a few episodes ago that you “really” vet these stories) but this is too much. Even if elements are true, overall the beginning sounded like a Hallmark movie because it was fiction and the dogfish was bad but the guest was super toxic Also, why do the hosts always encourage their guests’ toxic habits? Being a non-judgmental lister isn’t the same as pretending like some of their red flag behavior is okay. Also, Mackenzie social engineering for information in a PI case by pretending to be the victim of drugging and potential SA is just beyond the pale.

Fredrick560Great stories butLove the stories but less of the hosts shrieking and interrupting plus the very long ads please!
-
BmLady23FavoriteOne of my favorite podcasts! Hanna & Mackenzie are hilarious. I love the stories. I cannot get enough. ❤️
-
Gorgeous crownI like this showBut I’m really really grossed out by Mackenzie’s use of a fake IPV excuse. Enough to stop listening.

AVRay11True Crime without the murder (mostly)I am simply obsessed. Would love bomb this pod if I could. I just started a new job and I wanted to listen to something while I did my admin work. I wanted interesting stories with good hosts and juicy details. Learn things without my brain melting. Ding ding ding!! The Dating detectives. Love the hosts’ voices and personalities enough I don’t even feel like I’m gonna explode if I listen to their ads. Seriously love so much. Also this could be such a good resource to illuminate the reality of dating for women. We have a right to be scared!! But also stay hopeful lovies.

moxiebleuA dog-sendI never knew how much I needed Hannah and Mackenzie until they hacked into my negative self-deprecating brain and divided the gaslit “loser” part of me away so I could finally see my innate worthiness, beauty and powerful fierce approach to those who need to hear and understand that when they hear me say “you best watch your back now” it is not a threat, a promise, or words of advice. It is code for “I dare you to open your mouth at me again. You can be throat punched from inside the trachea too.” (Hypothetically)

rjanellehoganDogfish, Drama, & MoreI love this podcast, these ladies highlight the darker but common side of dating the wrong men. They give women the platform to speak the truth and allow you to not feel alone. Be prepared to feel frustrated and to reevaluate your thought process. If you’re single you’ll be setting boundaries and checking red flags. Also, funny real life detective stories.
-
Ashcojones21Please stopThis is such an awesome podcast ! My only complaint is the lady who squeals and yells. She also gets to guess what the guest is about to say before they say it. Other than that I absolutely love it!
-
Niki.M.11The hosts need to stop talking over guests!I really want to love this podcast, but the hosts constantly talk over the guests, disrupting the flow of the story without adding much value. I've noticed many others commenting on this issue, yet it still persists. Is anyone paying attention to the feedback? I just listened to an episode where a woman was sharing about her brother who passed away, and one of the hosts simply responded with, "Wow!" Wow?? Really? Are you even listening to her?

kellys5280Enjoyable content, Mackenzie can be difficult to listen to🗣️MACKENZIE PLEASE STOP YELLING INTO THE MIC!!! I enjoy the content of this podcast, especially the interviews with survivors. However, Mackenzie has several habits that can make it difficult to listen to. She screeches, loudly repeats phrases like “I’m sorry WHAT,” and “BLESS IT!,” laughs awkwardly, and at times uses a Blaccent for what I can only assume is an attempt at humor. It really detracts from the content and decreases her credibility as a professional.
-
Bridget1111Fave podcastI truly love this podcast and as someone who is podcast obsessed I have to say this is my favorite. Also as someone who was in an abusive relationship myself this is my comfort place I feel so validated
-
TC JunkieI’m OBSESSED with this show!!!Love MacKenzie’s TikToks so I tuned in and love the MacKenzie Undercover eps, but I’ve become obsessed with the victim’s stories just as much!!! So good!!
-
leidylue22One of the hosts needs to goLove the storytelling and one of the hosts is great but the other one?? Constantly interrupting and bad times with UNFUNNY comments that don’t add anything?? Fix it
-
jetes2Great but missed opportunity to educate the audienceI really enjoy this podcast! The stories are super interesting and shed light on different types of abuse which is very important. My only criticism would be that I think there’s a real opportunity here to educate people around good vs bad choices and how to spot red flags early. There’s a bit too much emphasis on not “victim blaming”. Of course, nobody should go through abuse, but the reality of the world is that there are abusive people walking around. The vast majority of these stories aren’t about a one-time “whoops”mistake. They are about a series of bad decisions made over months and sometimes years. I think it’s a disservice to the audience to not be honest about that to avoid hurting feelings. I’m sure that there is a way to tell these stories kindly, but to highlight clearly for listeners what wrong choices were made. That way, this podcast could actually prevent someone from being in a bad situation rather than falsely acting as if these stories were completely unpreventable

AutumnMcCandlesDisappointedI have listened to and loved this show since the first episode, so I’m sad to say this is my last. In the most recent episode Mackenzie lied about being roofied to get information for a client who was in no immediate danger. Unfortunately, she even claimed to know that this was wrong and that it adds to the narrative that women lie about sexual assault and being roofied, which honestly makes it so much worse. She claims she knows it was wrong but that we shouldn’t be mad because god has forgave her! This is seriously disappointing and is not okay in any way, especially as a fellow woman. Cannot even begin to say how disgusted I am.

Yeahno92Love it butThese are really interesting stories that are really important to hear. Honestly, I like being able to have my son who is a teenager hear some of the behaviors that I want to make sure he knows are not OK. There’s so much good content and Mackenzie is such a great storyteller and Hanna seems like a really nice person, however, sometimes listening to these stories, especially the last one where Mackenzie is trying to tell the toll story, Hanna will not stop interrupting her!!! Girl you gotta work on knowing when there’s a natural break in the conversation. you have to let her keep her flow!! Don’t jump ahead- just let her tell the story because she’s really good at it. It’s so hard to listen when I’m screaming at the phone to please be quiet. This could be so much better if that could be worked on. Coming from a former serial interrupter. One last thing - there are some stories that are clearly not dogfish. They’re just bad dudes from the start. I’d love to see you guys stick to the format and really just focus on the stories where people are pretending to be something they’re not.

AshMicBauMy one true loveThis is the only podcast I follow… my true love of podcasts. I almost hate that I’ve listened to every episode because I always want more throughout the week.
-
xyzabcaseyMakenzie is greatThe stories on this podcast, especially the McKenzie undercovers are great for a break from my true crime podcasts. Every episode, though I find myself texting a friend who also listens and saying, I wish that she would find a new cohost!!! Hanna’s character feels so forced and uses the cringey therapy talk & fake laughs & pointless interruptions. It doesn’t feel genuine and definitely takes away from the stories.
-
Harbar1205Love these two!I love listening to TDD each week. Sometimes I wait for a long drive to listen in one sitting. Each story is a real story told by the victim. TDD is doing important work for daters everywhere. I’m a patreon member and love it all. You three girls are incredible . Keep it up!
-
OhGee23Too muchI LOVE The Dating Detectives and listen every Monday like clockwork! But I cannot stand the episodes that drag on and on and on. As a DA survivor, the talk about domestic violence isn’t as triggering as listening to the guest drag on and on about repeating the same behaviors. I get the idea of giving a voice to these situations and people can relate, but for the love of all things holy I was so irritable listening to the chick carrying on about Finn. I’ll be hesitant to listening to the two part episodes from here on out.
-
WKGermanMore from Mackenzie!I came here from Mackenzie’s instagram and I love her stories so much! They are incredibly engaging and my favorite episodes!
-
SamJeterStories aren’t as good latelyI’m a huge, weekly listener & fan for last year or so, but I’m compelled to write this review because what is happening to the quality of stories lately?! They are not as “good”, and the past month+, the stories just seem like a mix of dumb decisions and long, tedious explanations of almost mundane situations. You ladies are great hosts and deserve to be airing much more quality stories worth airing, a la stories prior to a month or so ago!

ERINGMAYBased on the Long Game Pt 1Very hard to believe, a lot of it seemed unbelievable. There wasn’t a lot about that story that was interesting..the guy was creepy and stockerish and you end up reaching out to him for advice about a head injury??? Just a lot of unbelievable stuff.. if it was scripted.. definitely need to find someone to come up with a more interesting story. Just a very boring and unbelievable story. This review is based on her story not so much the podcast in general.

KJM1689Amazing topic, horrible hostsThe subject and format of the podcast is so interesting and this would be a go-to podcast for me if the hosts weren’t so intolerable. As others reviewers have mentioned, the hosts are constantly interrupting guests with unhelpful reactions or questions, engaging with each other only in non-funny banter and unnecessary comments (which the guests often awkwardly wait out until they are done), and trying too hard to be funny. It takes away from the guests and the overall content and has unfortunately made the podcast nearly unbearable. I hope they receive this feedback that is repeatedly being left for them because the show could be amazing.
-
Mother Hen of 3Today was hilarious!Y'all cracked me up today! I seen the post so I could picture your reactions to Maxine. I said to myself that I wanted to know more about her story, and you did not disappoint. Y’all’s commentary at the end was the icing on the cake. 😂🤣😅We need the 🫖 on the Ocala village too. Thank you for the laughs.

Autumn's EdenThe word is AudacitySo much time spent outlining common sense topics and the word is AUDACITY. There is no ‘o’.

TeeRaterfreaking love.Learned of this show through “nobody should believe me,” although I haven’t listened to the episode where they collab with A. Dunlop, yet. My 2nd episode to listen to, though, was with Alexis, and immediately after, I told my friends how great this podcast was. Absolutely love these women and 1000% wish we were friends in real life 🥹 thank you for creating such a cool thing. Y’all are doing great. Also, we have perfectly good cell service here in the great state of Texas 🫶
-
Missashlyy01SusThe last few stories seem super sketch. I feel like this show is being dogfished by its own guests. Have these stories been vetted? Cus they don’t seem right.
-
dmcleodyLove your podcast but stop talking over the guestI really enjoy the storylines and plots but please stop talking over the guest.
-
Law wannabeLet the guests speak! Both hosts interruptions and screeching are over the top annoying! Looking back at other reviews, I see that the hosts must not care because it has gotten worse.
-
Miranw02Love this pod!I love this pod and think it’ll help many women avoid dangerous situations or at least identify them early. Quick feedback: Hannah try some active listening strategies. Getting clarification from guests is valuable to listeners but not repeating points they already made.
-
Sophiej76LOVEBest Podcast ever. I’ve learned so much about how to protect myself and my family!! Great advice and suggestions!!!
-
CharliStarBinge worthyI’ve been binge listening to this show for the past two weeks. I enjoy the content and just have a few icks 🥺 MacKenzie does this inhale/slurp thing when she tells her MacKenzie undercover stories. I think it’s when she gets super excited and talks fast. It’s very minor but my spectrum brain despises it. The constant gasps & “OMG, and then what happened?” comments are a bit much. Mackenzie…girl, tone it down & limit your side comments.
-
kmsmitlove the stories, but the hosts….I just recently discovered this podcast and i love the stories told on her. Everyone is such a good store teller. But the hosts cutting off the guests is just rude and annoying. And the gasping constantly. And repeating things the guests just said. Like can we tone that down a bit? It doesn’t add anything, but it does take away from the story. You can’t have someone being vulnerable while also trying to be funny and banter with each other over it. It’s just weird.
-
PodCastamelMedical Detectives misguidedListening to the Medical Detective story about Kathy was alarming. She went against her psychiatrists plea not to do ketamine treatments and took herself off of the prescription for Lamictal. That is very dangerous. It’s alarming that a medical doctor (Dr Nance) was listening and quietly complying with this deluded belief that taking medical advice from a random Reddit post over the advice of her actual doctor is the way to achieve mental health Medical negligence is what comes to mind with this podcast. It’s very detrimental to vulnerable listeners. Also, all the symptoms Kathy was experiencing are side affects of ketamine.

chellhiggsTo bachelorHands down best episode yet!! so much truth so much rawness so real and hearing another side to a story that could’ve been ripped to shreds he still stood tall. Definitely would like to hear more stories like this, but completely understand why we don’t and shame on that woman.
-
Em220089The gasps 😩Love the stories, please hosts let them get the stories out. Makes it hard to concentrate. Saying this with all do respect 🙏
-
jennyjenny33My new favorite podcast!Having had my share of bad relationships, it’s nice to hear stories I can relate to and learn from. So funny and entertaining! The chemistry with the hosts is good too. Xoxo, jennife
-
LaciLaciLaciLaciCompelling podcastLove the format and premise. So helpful to hear these stories. My only feedback is that the audio levels could be better adjusted because the exclamations of “OH MY GOD!” hurt my ears from time to time.
-
arieskweenGreat stories, hosts are annoyingI really like the stories of the people who come on this podcast. They are so interesting and engaging! The only issue I have is the hosts, who interrupt a lot and honestly, don’t really add much with their banter. I also find that the conclusions they come to at the end seem very reductive and lacking much nuance. Mackenzie is extremely annoying and her phrases that she says has made me almost stop listening multiple times. The content and stories that the guests bring are great! I just wish the hosts were different!
-
..:)…..Obsessed!I’m currently on DIY PI and im screaminggggggg!! Love this podcast
-
Tea-time1973Stranger than fictionThank you for giving your take on the Clayton Echard story. Be warned, however, that the woman in the case is quite litigious and will probably be sending you a cease and desist order.
-
01rosscoFemtuition… with Male guestsCan we all agree that “femtution is literally intuition”
-
SenoritaCinditaStories are entertaining BUT….The stories are very entertaining which keeps me listening. The issue is one of the hosts makes it so difficult to get through the episodes. Respectfully, her cringe-y comments, jokes & squealing/screaming/overly exaggerated gasps make listening a challenge.

ERC1033Instantly hookedThis is the most listenable podcast I’ve heard in a long time. The episodes are compelling and complete, and just different enough from each other so as to be totally binge worthy without being repetitive. They shake things up with an interesting guest every once in a while too. There is something really powerful about people being given a platform for telling their stories. The hosts have found a great balance of being friendly, authentic, and conversational while still letting their guests shine. There are so many OMG moments that are so much better because they are allowed to happen organically and are not forced or over-editorialized by the hosts. The debrief is a great addition to the end of a heavy episode. Really, I admire everything about what these women have put together… and I’m only 10 episodes in!
-
ShyEb95I like it but ….The hosts, mostly Hannah interrupts waaay too much. It ruins the flow of the show. AND, if we aren’t going to tell the details of certain stories. Maybe leave those stories out? Because as the consumer, being left with half of the story, makes me wish I never heard it to begin with. Other than that, love the show and tell everyone to watch.
-
mymykeylimepieThe Baby DaddyThese two ladies’ episodes are always informative and fun. My husband will agree. He hears me yelling OMG OMG OMG as I’m listening and it has nothing to do with him. Lol
-
Sweettooth_86Hooked!Omg! I heard about your podcast from the “Lets Read” podcast. I just started today and i’m so hooked! I love how you’re using your podcast to help others.
