Mg1883Love this podcast!!!As a first time mom, learning all you need to know can seem overwhelming to say the least. This podcast has taught me so much and been such a great resource as I move throughout my pregnancy! I’ve recommended it to multiple of my friends who are also pregnant for the first time. Thank you!!!!

landofdaisiesSO helpful!LOVE Laila’s take on all things pregnancy, birth, and postpartum – her episode "17 things no one tells you about postpartum beforehand" is informative, thorough, and well worth a listen - knowledge is power and I'd rather be prepared for all the possibilities! If you’re looking for a conversation on understanding what a Doula does, check out episode "What is a doula + postpartum tips with Maggie" – lots of helpful, accurate information. And just a great episode too! Laila tells it like it is, speaks from personal experience and from the heart, and has such helpful guest interviews. She is so genuine and really cares about supporting other moms, and I also love and appreciate the great energy she brings to every episode!

#1♥️Love this podcast!Well, needless to say I’m one of those moms or future moms that just need everything laid out for me before I can move forward. I’m so excited to say that my husband and I are now trying to conceive our first baby. There’s been ups and downs of learning, but I’ve been so grateful to have this podcast and educate me for what I have to look forward to. Not gonna lie I’ve probably listened to all of your podcasts at least once if not some of them twice. Grateful to be where I am now and can’t wait for the journey ahead.

SeveLynneGratefulPregnancy and motherhood is an ever constant changing challenge. It has felt like every question I have asked myself or new challenge I face seems to be the topic of the next podcast. Every time I listen I find myself so grateful for the information being shared; the emotions being acknowledged and the confidence being inspired in me.

EKennon11I didn’t know how much I needed thisThere were so many things with being a new mom that I didn’t know. And how can you know what you need to know if you don’t know what you don’t know?!?!?! This podcast has helped me so much in my confidence in pregnancy and being a new mom. It has helped me and encouraged me to find the resources I need to made informed decisions for me and my family rather than blindly walk through life and decisions because “we’ve done it this way for ___years” thank you so much Laila! I feel like we are besties and I have never even met you in person! I look forward to a new episode notification every Monday!

CC6317Like listening to a good friend!I started listening to Learning to Mom when I found out I was pregnant. I gave birth 4 weeks ago and I can’t thank Laila enough for all the information, guidance and good energy. I believe knowledge is power and didn’t want to go into my first birth uneducated. Beyond the amazing guests and information, Laila’s temperament and positive attitude helped keep me calm through the anxieties of Pregnancy. Im so grateful that I can continue to listen to all the postpartum episodes as well.

Caila The Greathow I found youhi girly! you mention in an episode that you would love to hear about how we found your podcast and why we stuck around to listen. My best friend is about to be a first time mom and I’m really getting into learning about postpartum care so I can care for my best friend. you’ve had a couple of great episodes with really good information that I was searching for. Keep up the good work!

Very Informed ConsumerSpreading medical lies (aka misinformation)This podcast is not rooted in medical or science. There are claims the breastfeeding reduces the chances of breast and ovarian cancer. There is anecdotal evidence that suggests this might be true. However, there is sound evidence proving the opposite. This is an attempt to shame women (most notably new moms) into breastfeeding.
-
Emileh DeemehI love this podcastI love this podcast. Laila brings on the best guests and it has been so informative: I feel so much more prepared as a first time mom - due in 3 months :) thanks so much, Laila!

@MrMuskThis Podcast is mid…You learn, but there are definitely better podcasts out there. The better podcasts are hosted by nurses or doulas or midwives so they have a wide variety of experience and can speak to all women. Laila lacks experience. Also, she has created a patreon to make more money, and says it’s because she spends so much time editing her podcast. She wouldn’t have to spend so much time editing her podcasts if she just posted the whole thing. The podcasts here feel disjointed (likely because she edits them so you’ll go to her patreon). And she spends way too much time on adds or trying to get you to subscribe! She could post the whole podcast in the time it takes her to try and get you to subscribe to her patreon. Spend your money and time and take a birth course from someone else. It will be a lot more helpful for you in the long run!

AleneThomas1994So grateful to Laila for her show!I am a first time expecting mom and found Laila’s show right in the thick of Season 2. It really is the guide to so many questions we don’t know to ask or through situations we didn’t even know occur! I love to learn but I like to know that what I’m absorbing is vetted information and with Laila and her guests I don’t have to worry. I love the show so much I stopped listening to season 2 to go back to the very beginning and start with S1 E1 and I am LOVING the journey! I am learning so much about my body, how strong I am, how humanly vulnerable I am, how to care for myself and baby, and how to balance ALL of the things! I am incredibly grateful for this show, Laila’s expectation of no judgement, and the preface that this is information sharing and not necessarily applicable to everyone because as she mentions multiple times: every person and every pregnancy is unique. Thank you, Laila and guests for this show. I feel so confident and supported with my mom friend!
-
Alyssa_LandrithIncredible podcastI learned so much from this podcast as a first time mom. The topics and content are vast and incredible helpful. Laila has such an approachable perspective. This podcast helped me go into motherhood more educated and ready.

ErinshipI love your podcast!!I found your podcast at the beginning of my first pregnancy and binged all the released episodes. I continue to listen to all your new releases and love your guest, views & how you share information. I feel prepared and informed to welcome my new baby soon. Yesterday I listen to the letter to your pregnant self and was bawling my eyes out. It was so vulnerable and beautiful. Thank you for all of your work you do for this podcast and please always remember you are making a great impact on a lot of people!
-

Pie33322Literally the best first time mom podcast EVERI love this podcast!! It is so informative, every single episode is insightful. Laila is such a great host. She is honest, kind, and relatable. Her instagram and weekly newsletters are so great too! I started listening to the podcast pre trying to conceive to learn and feel more confident going into the season. Highly recommend 100/10!!
-
XysjoemGood podcast but be carefulReally good podcast But was surprised she mentioned recommendations about not getting vaccines or not taking prenatal vitamins. Some dangerous ideas.
-
Katrina GarzonThe best resource for first time pregnant mamas!I discovered this podcast soon after it launched as another podcast I listen to, one of the hosts is friends with Laila, mentioned this podcast. I am SO glad I stumbled upon Learning to Mom. Laila is open, honest, covers so many ways of how and where your baby could be born, how to prep, things to expect, postpartum, and so much more!! Also, her weekly newsletter is packed full of helpful information. Thank you Laila for all you do! I’ve had my husband listen to some episodes along with me and he has really appreciated it and learns a ton as well!
-
Joan_dozGreat podcast for first time momsLaila is a wonderful host! I am a FTM and I am SO glad I found this podcast. I have listened to all the episodes and am caught up, however I wish I wasn’t cause I can’t get enough!! There are many things I didn’t know that either she explains through her own experience or has an expert on to share their knowledge. Laila is truly our mom friend and I am so thankful for this podcast and connecting with her on Instagram. 🫶🏼🤍

KayGembGreat listen, especially for first time moms!I stumbled upon this podcast when I was 10 weeks pregnant and it was such a lifesaver! I love how positive and uplifting each episode is and there is so much great information that helped me feel more confident in my pregnancy journey.

Karley2024Answers our questions!Great podcast to listen to when a question pops into mind and you want to know an experts answer! I love that this first time mom asks all the questions we are thinking! Thank you!!!
-
Ya<3ya21Full time nurse first time momI found this pod cast when I was 10 weeks pregnant, currently 25. I LOVE LOVE LOVE listening every Monday morning in my drive to work. Although I am a nurse there is so much more to educate myself on. Not only does Laila share her experience but has so many experts to share informative insights on questions all of us first timers have! I’ve learned so much from what to expect, to baby registry, to things I didn’t even know existed (hypnobirthing). Can’t wait for season 2
-
zillenial appalachian grammyFTM and loving it!When I first found out I was pregnant, I was searching for podcasts that were easy to listen to and were informative. This one takes the cake. I love the range of people that Laila brings on the show, and that she still includes personal anecdotes in the discussion. She (and her guests!) answers questions that I didn’t even know I had, and the information has helped me advocate for myself when visiting the doctor :)
-
Lindsgrl22The Go-To Podcasts for New Moms!Laila is such a sweet soul and her podcast perfectly captures how so many first time moms feel! If you don’t know where to begin, begin here!! She will help you through it allll, from the moment you get that positive test! 🤍 Laila weaves in the faith in a subtle but unapologetic way, while sharing her own broken but restored journey! She brings on experts to answer all first time mom questions you may have!
-
Katie Beth FA New Mom Must-Listen Podcast! As a currently pregnant soon-to-be first time mom, this podcast has been an incredible resource providing me with so much knowledge and information. As a host, Laila is honest, encouraging, and knows just the right questions to ask the experts featured in each episode. Laila and her podcast guests dig into some great conversations that truly help me feel more empowered and prepared to take on each step of pregnancy, childbirth, and the transition to parenthood. From the nitty-gritty of labor and delivery to better understanding your body changes during pregnancy to discovering the joys of connecting with your little even before they make their arrival, no topic is left out or uncovered. The Learning To Mom Podcast has given me a friend through this journey to motherhood that I haven’t found anywhere else!
-
stupid happyLaila is the mom friend we all need!!I knew Laila before she started the podcast and she was the person I turned to with all of my first time mom questions, since I really didn’t know anyone else who had had a baby before me! I even called her immediately postpartum to ask some VERY personal questions. She has always been willing to answer any question with joy & honesty. I absolutely love that she has now become this mom friend for all her listeners!! I’ve learned so much from her podcasts and think they have become just such a wise & comforting space for all moms out there. We need more of this kind of support for moms in our world. I recommend this podcast to all my pregnant friends!
-
Kaylyn DillonSo informative!I started listening to this podcast to prepare before even getting pregnant. I have been taking notes on this podcast for months and there is something to take away from each and every episode, no matter your beliefs or background. This podcast has lessened my anxiety when it comes to pregnancy, child birth and becoming a mom. I really enjoy that she also talks about her personal experiences in a raw and intimate way which helps me get a real life perspective, different than just straight facts, 100% of the time. There is a great balance of facts vs. personal experience.
-
Courtney13csYour true mom friend!Someone sharing their own experience is what I look for in birth videos, birth stories, advice articles, etc because they are automatically going to be more helpful than someone who is generalizing a thousand experiences and giving a 30,000 foot view. The questions Laila asks are questions that REAL people need to ask providers, etc and so that’s why it is so invaluable. As a first time mom, I’ve found Laila’s episodes so fun, helpful, positive and informative. Thank you for helping new moms!
-
Dr.Pepper.VNot the worst, but far from the bestThe host is amiable and sweet but she has no credentials other than her own experience. She brings religion up a lot and “woo woo” practitioners on to discuss scientifically unsound ideas and recommendations. I had to stop once she brought up Joe Rogan.
-
ShwaykMom Friend! This podcast is great for any first time moms! Laila is your mom friend but she keeps it positive but also truly honest. Glad to have this resource when moving around the world!
-
AdvoselleyInformativeI love this podcast and it’s relatability. I am a new mom at the wonderful age of 39. Just had my baby boy on March 22 2024. I just wanted you to know that I’ve been trying to listen to the last couple episodes and they are always unavailable. Just thought you should be aware of it. Thank you for all the useful tips and tricks.
-
Karley WhitneyFTM and LOVING this show!I found this podcast right in the beginning of pregnancy and I am now 25 weeks and have listened to it every single week! I also go back and listen to older ones all the time. She brings such a good energy to the podcast along with great information, especially for a first time mom who (used to) feel pretty lost and had no idea what to expect! I now feel much more prepared and informed for pregnancy and birth and even post partum than I would have had I not found this podcast. I love how she is just a “regular” mom, (meaning not a nurse or anyone in the medical field) because she asks her guests so many of the same questions I have. Can’t recommend this podcast enough!!
-
Podcast LovaaFirst time mama!So happy to have come across the the LTM podcast! I have learned so much in such a short amount of time and have this podcast to thank. I truly feel like I have a mom friend while listening to this podcast and can’t wait to continue catching up through all of the episodes. I’ve even shared a few with my husband so he feels more ready and educated alongside with me.

Maggie2025ExcellentExcellent resource for expecting mommas.

AshFromPABest Pregnancy Podcast I have Found!!!I found out I was pregnant in Feb 2024. It was a surprise pregnancy and being a first time mom I felt like I knew nothing. I started listening to another podcast that Laila was a guest on and immediately could relate with her story. After she mentioned her podcast I started listening! All the info is amazing and the content is much needed, lots of things I would have no idea about. I caught up quickly, and listened to every podcast posted in a matter of a week or two. I love the episode about the baby registry and when I create mine I will listen to it for the third time! Also loved the hypnobirthing episode! It’s amazing that Laila is also pregnant!!! Congrats! It makes listening that much more fun :) Laila - you are doing an amazing job! Thank you for this podcast to help out moms. I look forward to the new episode every week! 🤍🤰🏼

Hannah Brooke ZInformative and empowering for all Mamas!Laila has created a podcast, platform, and support network for not just first time Moms, but all Moms! She started this podcast about a month after my first child was born. I’ve benefited from listening both as a first time mom and now as an expectant Mama of two! The information in each episode is so helpful and informative, and also helps lift up women during what can be such a lonely and difficult time in their lives. Another aspect I love about Learning to Mom is that Laila truly is the “mom friend” she mentions in the beginning of her episodes. She has never met me before, but will respond to DMs if I ever have a question about pregnancy or information from an episode. I highly recommend this podcast to any new moms or anyone that wants to learn more about pregnancy and how to support those in your life that are on this journey!
-
kik123450Can’t recommend enough!Just finding this podcast at the beginning of my third trimester, and wow, talk about perfect timing. So much good info and I feel empowered to make informed decisions and take control of my birthing experience (to the extent possible of course!).
-
NicolewallyBest mom friend around!Hi Laila, I started searching for pregnancy and birth podcasts when I found out I was pregnant. So many just didn’t entice me enough to listen to the whole episode as it was hard to connect with the host and/or material presented. From the first episode I listened to (How to prepare your dog for life with your baby episode) I was hooked. Your relatable approach and good vibes are contagious and I love how honest you are with your guests and listeners. I’m 15 weeks along and look forward to each new episode and getting through all the rest from last year. We share a lot of life similarities and I feel like I’m talking to my friend each episode. You and your guests are so insightful and all the knowledge is greatly appreciated. Please keep doing what your doing and being the best mom friend around! You are such an amazing support for new and seasoned moms alike and we are all so grateful for you and your hard work. We love you Laila!!
-
LaCatherine CSo insightful!LOVE this podcast. While I’m not a mom yet, I work at a pregnancy center. It’s been challenging to connect with clients due to my inexperience. However, your podcast has helped me gain knowledge and connect with our moms on so many different levels. I also find that each episode makes me more comfortable and confident about starting a family soon! Thank you for all that you do!
-
Brooke MihalickBest pregnancy podcast!!I love this podcast! I was looking for pregnancy podcast when I found out I was pregnant because this is my first, this was the only one I found that I loved! I love all the different topics that she covers and I’ve learned so much as a first time mom! Thank you so much for doing this podcast!!
-
Mrsmason9Total GodsendMy husband and I are going to start trying for our first baby here in a few months. I'm not really much of a podcast person but I figured I should try and find one with good info since neither one of us know what we are doing. LET ME TELL YOU This is the only one you need. Laila has legit guests that don't sugarcoat things and tell you what to expect. I have learned SO much already...things that I never even thought I needed to know or how to advocate for myself and what questions to ask my Dr and what a birth plan is. I look forward to her new releases each week and just signed up for her newsletter and I'm not even TRYING YO CONCEIVE YET. What a great resource, keep it up Laila!!!❤️❤️❤️
-
nicolecoffeelover1st time mom @ 39. Needed this podcast!I’m a first time mom at 39 yrs old. As much as I’d been around so many friends through their births from home births to hospital births to c sections. As well as those that breast fed and those that didn’t and how their first year went, there is still sooooo much I had no clue of that I either didn’t pay attention or know to ask or what was not shared. Thankful for this podcast that lay it all out there, giving all the perspectives and details and options for all stages of pregnancy and post. Layla gives information and pointing where to get more information with so many helpful professional interviews. So helpful than just saying “do your research.” Will definitely recommend to other new moms (old and young!).
-
BddnhdsaxcMy savor pregnancy podcast!I started listening to this podcast right when I found out I was pregnant and have thoroughly enjoyed every episode. I’ve learned SO much from Laila and appreciate her candid opinions/advice about everything. Highly recommend!
-
1stBabeBoyorGirlLOVELearning to Mom is my go-to podcast. It’s so easy to listen to & Laila has such a down to earth vibe. So much info on social media Is saturated with pushing home births, etc. I love that Laila touches on all different options but focuses plenty on the hospital birth way of things.
-
Gracie&BluesmomAMAZING!Saying this podcast is amazing is simply an understatement. As a new soon to be mother I wanted to educate myself on all things pregnancy & childbirth. This podcast has helped me immensely! Because of you I feel so confident when asking questions or making decisions in all things related to baby. THANK YOU SO MUCH for helping all women just like me! You are truly a blessing. 🙏🏻💜
-
mj8Mama to beI have been listening to this podcast since I found out I was pregnant (28 weeks!). Every episode is so informative and eases my mind as a first time mom. I truly feel as if we are all mom friends just hanging out. I am so excited for the future of this podcast! Thank you, Laila!!
