SUCH an interesting concept and perfectly executed
Wow, what a great concept - classic supernatural mysteries caused by disease that are intricately described and “investigated”, with incredibly detailed and layered world building that fleshes out the culture and religion surrounding these diseases. I started this podcast on a whim but now that I’ve finished, I cannot wait for more!

    Engrossing
I’ve been looking for a new horror podcast to sink my teeth into and this is what the doctor (or heretical former monk) ordered!

    Binge worthy
I don’t know how I stumbled upon this podcast, but I’m very glad I did. I’ve never listened to a fiction podcast, but this one drew me in with the fantastic world building, the great writing and the excellent voice acting. I listened to the entire season over the past two days, and can’t wait to see what another season will bring. I’m going to support on Patreon to get the extra content. Highly recommended.

    A Complete Surprise
Just as unique and as rich as anything in “horror” pods. I consume hundreds of hours of podcasts a month and have for years and frankly most of the well has run dry. Zachary’s work is precise, beautifully developed, and vivid.

    Intruiging!
I love the attention paid to the biology of it all, and how, despite the academic framing of the narrative, the characters’ emotions and reasonings are all communicated so well. The worldbuilding, where so much centers around biologics and diseases but with a strong religious influence, is also deeply fascinating. I couldn’t reccommend this enough!

    Truly Awesome
Started this on a whim not expecting to be treated to exceptional creativity in the creator’s world building and subtle humor that inspires outbursts of mirth at inopportune times in what I thought was just going to be a novel thriller podcast. The voice acting is great, with subtle hints that truly flesh out the character. You won’t be wasting your time by taking a chance on this fantastic horrorcast.

    Fantastic horror mystery.
This is one of the best horror mystery podcasts I’ve listened to for a while. It’s done through listening to recordings of the man as he travels throughout the lands studying a disease in all of its variants and how it affects not only the body and mind but the society it’s unraveling. Episodes wax and wane with it’s brutality but even when it’s not gory, the creepiness slowly crawls up to you. It kind of reminds me of a lovecraftian story if some of those things locked away escaped into the world. I really am looking forward to finding out more of what is happening. Pop in your ear buds, enjoy the fall night or early morning and go for a nice walk listening to this heretics rantings and notes.

    The Mushishi of Horror Podcasts
Like monsters? Like body horror? Like elder gods? Like plague doctors???? The overarching storyline is lovely and each case file is compelling. They use “period appropriate” (I know it’s fantasy shut UP) to really drag you into the world. Morbidly fascinating!

    EXCELLENT!!!
Reminds me of ; A Voice from darkness, and Wormwood, loved both of them, and can now ad this well voiced, podcast with wonderful voice acting, and old English enunciation of the English language at the turn of the century. Well written and can’t wait for more sophisticated episodes.

    Fantastic
Cocreator of the LUQ flexing his writing and voice acting chops beautifully. each case is interesting and could be their own story, and i love getting to know the title character while exploring them.

    Great New Podcast
Seems like it could somewhat fill the shoes of A Voice from Darkness. Well written and superbly acted.

Love the mix of horror and science
I love horror, and I love science, and this appeals to both of those senses. Gives me kind of a Kingdom vibe with the feeling of an historical account mixed with some truly horrifying events.

    Excellent Mix of Elements
Episode 1 and Addendum A are excellent. This is Umberto Eco meets H.P. Lovecraft with some great Steampunk mixed in.

    Weekly?
So. Is there going to be more than just one episode or what?

    A podcast for candlelight
If you enjoy the narrative style of classic horror (Dracula, Frankenstein, Cthulhu, etc) this is definitely worth a listen. An interesting tone and soothing voice make this a wonderful podcast to enjoy in the dark. I look forward to future episodes.
