MiMcEHGGreat showI find I have a lot in common with Mike & Randy. EYEHATEGOD is my favorite band & I saw them for the first time in Syracuse ‘97 i believe the day before the Boston show w/ dead& gone $ neurosis. Then the 2nd time (if 60+ times) a day later in Albany NY at the QE2. Anyway-mr hill is sometimes hard to hear, other than that I really dig this show.

Aleix MartinezA must for uncompromising artists & peopleGreat podcast covering extreme music, the occult, horror and more. What I love the most is that it showcases DIY and uncompromising artists and people. It’s real talk and practical advice about doing things your own way and not compromising your ideas. I always feel inspired by the end of it.

Zippy8226ExcellentSimply put, this is one of my favorite podcasts. Mike is very knowledgeable not only about the world of heavy music, but also about various topics outside of extreme music. Highly recommended.
-
Pete LunchRealOne of my favorites. Sometimes its not thje subject matter so much as the way someone talks about it, and that rings true for me here. I dont even enjoy much black/"blackened" metal (or horror movies) but can listen to Mike talk about it all day. Insightful stuff.

Buddy LoydReflectiveI love this show. Its realy great! I really enjoy the man on the silver mountain episodes where Mike delves deep into his physche and gives a reflective and honest opinion on thing ranging from music to politics. I met Mike when I watched Toms in Little Rock AR. I was a fan of both the podcast and his music. After I met him I had the realization of how honest and genuine this dude is. You cant go wrong with anything this man does.

Adam DoktorBlack Coffee Fight ClubPure mma, no nonsense. Could use a bit more content. Keep it up.

TheGondolaManFantastic and honest take on being an artistVery refreshing to hear an actual artist (as opposed to just a critic) talk to other artists from various mediums. Additionally, it's great to hear someone who's inarguably "trve kvlt" being honest about having side-hustle businesses. Everybody needs to make money. I just signed on to support his 'cast by contributing to his Patreon account, and I'm proud to do so. Side note: randomly ran into him as he walked from his van to the venue in Cincinnati, and he's the sweetest dude. I didn't want to really bug him, as he was about to play, but he couldn't have been nicer.

Pegleg AntoineAmazing!!!I've been a fan of Mike's band Tombs for years. I just came across the podcast and absolutely love it!

SMSchwegsSome deep cutsAs a long time fan of Mike’s work in Tombs/Versoma/Anodyne, it’s very gratifying to have such an engaging experience listening to his podcast. A long time lifer like Hill has learned a lot about a lot, and has a lot of terse and amusing ways to express his opinions. But there’s a lot more to be found here aside from tour stories or purely musician-centric experiences. The free format lends itself to many forms of conversation, ranging anywhere from personal health, science fiction fandom, reading recommendations, MMA-training, metaphysical soliloquy and so on. Mike conducts his interviews with a careful enthusiasm; this makes for great conversation with many interesting people beyond just musicians or entertainers. His occasional solo musings come across as someone speaking out loud to themselves, and can be deeply personal, like someone reading their journal out loud. If you want to feel like you aren’t alone in the world because of a nagging mind, or particularly strong temperament you may be prone to, this is your end times radio station. If you are a rock/hardcore/metal musician or an extreme musician of any kind, this is certainly worth your time.

RoadbullSolid podcast!Just got turned onto this podcast through a friend. A must listen for any fan of music. The interviews flow well and nothing seems forced.

TheRealBostonManglerWell worth a listenThe other reviews tell you what you need to know but in case you missed it: it rules.

FilthyMateoInspiringOne of the greatest things we can transmit is inspiration. Everything Went Black" is "all that and a dime-sack" as it were. Conversations with musicians, writers, athletes and other movers and shakers that Mike Hill comes across, with an emphasis on MMA (expounding upon fight-cards and other skullduggery)and extreme-alternative music. I'm a podcast nut and sometimes consider toning it down; if I dumped my podcast library to a single show,E.W.B. would make the cut.

FrostHammerStrongLove the topics, feel like Im chatting with a good friend! Strong podcast Mike
-
iview27Great PodcastStarting with the music of Tombs & Anodyne, and partly because of his occasional writing for Brooklyn Vegan, when I found Mike Hill’s podcast; I knew I needed to subscribe. There isn’t a single interview that isn’t worth your time. And even more importantly, you can hear the care that goes into the interview.

JeffScholzEssential Listening!Where else can I learn how to make coffee with butter, fend off pickpockets and battle bedbugs (from one of my favorite musicians)? Great show! PS (to Mike): Now shove your s#%t into a van, get the hell out to San Diego and let's throw down some friggin' Tombs at Casbah. Keep up the good work!

sdfsljafiOne of My Favorite PodcastsLike most of Everything Went Black's listeners, I came to this podcast through Mike Hill's music (Hill sings and plays guitar in Tombs and previously played in Anodyne). EWB is a free-form, conversational podcast typically featuring a single guest, usually a friend or associate of Hill's. Discussion often includes music, culture, current events, and film. Hill and his guests, many of whom are musicians, tell some great touring stories and talk about the logistics of being a professional musician in the current age. Going into its third year as an active podcast, EWB (and Hill) has really come into its own. Genuinely entertaining and thought provoking.

zmoney177A must listen podcast to check out! These are podcasts created by Mike Hill vocalist/guitarist for the band Tombs and they are very informative listens. Many of Mike's conversations are with friends from other bands he and Tombs tour with regularly and many discussions talk about music, politics, religion, touring, etc.Like I mentioned earlier very informative and if you are into Mike's band Tombs or if your just interested in what his discussions are definitely check this out.If you haven't heard the band Tombs it's highly recommended that you check their music out if your looking for something a lot different then what your hearing right now.Great podcast!
