@davesouteeThe best literary podcast I’ve foundAs an aspiring author, I’ve found otherppl to be quite valuable. And entertaining. It’s been helpful to hear authors tell of their journey to publication. My personal favorite episode is with Sam Tallent. And I’ve taken notes while listening to the craft work episodes. Overall, I think it’s the best literary podcast out there, and is continually improving. Brad has a knack for keeping the conversations relaxed and meandering in the best way.

Sara C TSpectacular Author InterviewsThis is hands down the podcast I recommend the most! Brad’s author interviews are thoughtful and in-depth. I’ve been listening for 15 years and still look forward to every author interview!

1jdc[]Many thanksThank you for your election interview with AM Homes; as well as your many enriching author interviews. I’d already voted a few weeks ago, but found it very informative.

Oliver.FinneganNew listenerCame across an interview with Stephen Graham Jones in a search for podcasts about horror screenwriting, stuck around for a few more episodes because I really appreciate Brad’s interviewing style. By now I’ve listened to interviews with Jones as well as Jonathan Ames and Alexander Chee, and I’m interested in continuing to listen even though those are the main author names I’ve recognized so far. I’m a beginning writer, with a lot of anxiety that likes to get in the way of actual writing, and this podcast always makes me FEEL like writing — calm and curious and motivated. That itself is invaluable.

R.C. TayA Note of AppreciationThanks Brad for so many great recommendations & all the great conversations you have had over the years. I’ve also really been digging the Brad & Mira for the culture segment, as well!! Sincerely, Cody Taylor.

amazzariCreative cornerstoneCan’t really say enough here. Too many upsides to name. Downsides: you will buy many books and you might try to write one.

RobinDoddphotoFantastic podcast for writersI have been listening to this podcast since I returned to grad school in 2021 for creative writing. It’s been so insightful. Great conversations about the writer’s process, as well as being introduced to work you might never have discovered on your own. Love it! Subscribed to Patreon! Brad, I really would like my name tattooed on your back, so I’m working toward upgrading . Loved the interview today!

Mr. Duncan DisorderlyOne of my favoritesCouldn’t love this podcast more. Brad has great guests and asks smart perceptive questions that prompt authors to get into the nitty gritty of their process. Loving the Craftwork episodes.

Hello Kris10Otherppl is my favorite podcastBeen listening to this show for over ten years and it’s not just my favorite author interview podcast it’s my favorite podcast period. Almost every author you can imagine has been on this program, and Brad has this uncanny ability to ask them the questions you’ve already been wondering as listener.

SocialfitExcellent showI have purchased probably 85% of the books I’ve learned about from this podcast. Brad does a great job having intelligent and interesting conversation with his guests. I really enjoy the layout and pretty much every aspect of this podcast. Give it a go. If you’re into literature I assure you, you will appreciate it at the very least. I’m now a big fan. Keep up the great work. -JST

Hate this programEvery episode offers fresh insightsBest podcast for engaging discussions with interesting authors. Brad’s thoughtful questions inspire author’s to reveal new perspectives and ideas. Don’t miss out!
-
PhillyGirl99Publishing is brokenLoved this episode; mainstream publishing is as rich and ossified as I feared. Loved Ms Schmidt’s many solutions to the problem, which don’t sound impossible to do. Such a great analysis of the industry. I hope that publishers start running public service campaigns against book banning as she suggested and that you start interviewing author publishing innovators like Cory Doctorow. And other publishing innovators who are not authors.

dxjufvmore plsLove the monologues.

PortisvilleOtherPPL IS A JoyBeen listening to the show for 5 years now. Wonderful insights to the writer’s life. Brad is a generous host who always gets his guests to open up. If you’re a book lover, a reader, or writer, then this is a podcast for you!
-
XL PrintInterviewer ExtraordinaireReally find the life experiences and backgrounds of the authors interesting. But, it is what Brad Listi draws out of the authors that surface both while providing the listeners with pertinent information on the author’s book. Brad is an informed and superb interviewer. If literary fiction is your interest and listening to how a book came about, Brad makes it happen weekly.

Writer ListenerLove this podcastI’ve been listening to Brad’s Otherppl podcast for years now and it’s like listening to a chill conversation with amazing authors, both ones I’ve admired for years and others who I’m just learning about. As a writer myself I often use the podcast to loosen up my mind when I’m stuck in a writing hole, and it always works. So thankful for the work Brad List and his team are doing!
-
scribblepostterrific for readers and writers!brad’s on top of his game. he gets great authors, knows their work and bios, asks direct questions respectfully, and keeps the conversation flowing. i like that he has the occasional indie author on as well, as their voices also deserve to be heard.

J.D.S 1984What a Resource!!I’m an English graduate student, and I cannot speak highly enough of how pivotal this podcast is. It’s an endless well of information. It’s rife with beautiful, authentic conversations with authors I otherwise would never know. It’s an incredible resource to not only depend on the viability of what’s being shared, but it introduces me to an eclectic authorial dimension for which I have the greatest appreciation. Thank you!
-
jonijonijonijonijonijoninon nonsensereally genuine conversations that are simultaneous self-aware and as if the writers have forgetten they are being recorded

RichRantA Total Mind Zuck!I just finished listening to the Roger McNamee episode, Brad. What a total mind zuck! You continually outdo yourself with the authors you interview and the topics you discuss. I’ve been with you since the beginning, and I’m with you for the long-haul. I’m all ears, my friend. All ears.

Christopher GronlundMy Favorite PodcastIf someone said you have to drop all other podcasts and save only one, Otherppl would be the podcast I'd save. Listi's interviewing skills lean more toward discussion, and he handles everything in such a manner that guests open up. I've come to find so many writers I'd never have known existed without the show. I've learned a lot about my own writing. As hokey as it might sound, it's also a reminder that there are many great people doing wonderful things in the world. There's a reason I even support the show on Patreon -- I love it!

Aurora boraGood guests but...I wish he would interrupt his guests a lot less.
-
JebediahRooseveltListenBrad's voice is emotionally leveling. It causes me no distress. He should probably be leading guided meditations, especially on a slackline

Nickname_MRKLove this!Love listening to this. I'm kinda burned out on podcasts about movies, etc right now so Other Ppl podcast is really refreshing right now. Really interesting authors and books, most of which I was unfamiliar with prior to this podcast. Brad is a great interviewer and I always find myself taking notes about books and authors during the podcast. Looking forward to more!

MissmkhThis is the ONLY podcast you should listen to if you love booksBrad Listi was my introduction to podcasts and he spoiled me for all other literary podcasts. Listening to these interviews is a form of zen therapy that I cannot go without these days. His questions are insightful, his guests are fascinating and the listener really gets to know the authors in a way that other interviews don't allow.
