    Like an old friend
I don’t listen to every episode but every time I come back to this show I remember why I’m not only a fan of Pete but why I love talking & connecting with people. It’s such an intimate & honest look into people’s lives. And it does remind you, even if your career or path isn’t in entertainment (in its multiple forms) nor social broadcasting, that everyone has a satellite experience with everything we could or may be facing. I love this show. Dig in & you’ll find something worthwhile. I promise.

    Guaranteed laugh, guaranteed deep thought
Really glad I listened to this pod it’s three-parts laugh out loud, one-part philosophical but always interesting. The Judy Greer episode made me even bigger of a fan of her and Holmes after. Keep up the great work.

    Corporeal Baguette
Pete is an illusive figure, cloaked in mystery and enigmatic transience. He borrows time, but is never charged a fine. He treads water for days on end amongst the opulent salt rich seas of Constantinople, coaching the indigenous Roman manatee in proper seasonal migration formation and travel etiquette. For recreation, Pete fashions embroidery out of tea stained hamster fur and self widdled porcupine pins. His formidable textile works, “Croquet at Dawn” and “Corporeal Baguette”, have been prominently displayed at both The Louvre and Norways most renown haberdashery, “Stilig Mann”. The wiles of whimsy evade him. He inadvertently discovered denitrification whilst meddling amongst the legumes in his home made phytotherapy laboratory, gaining equal parts notoriety and envy amongst the cut throat world that is the Herbalist community. The laws of gravity do not apply to Samuel, nor do the constructs of martial law. He has been thrice pardoned by the president of Kiribati for his violent heroics accosting the great jewel thief and legend of Patagonia, the famous gangster rebel “Matius Cayancura”; known for his elaborate tanzanite heists and homemade oyster soup. He is proficient in air guitar, Pig Latin, and the recitation of the greater works of Emily Dickinson; but perhaps most notably, he is an outstanding comedian.

    Best bit!!!
I don’t know how this but never worked, but the Bob Dylan bit on the Mo Welch episode had my husband and I crying from laughter. I listen every week and it is the absolute uplift we all need. Keep it crispy!

A hilarious gift of joy and love
You will cry from laughing so hard. Especially when Pete gets a good friend on, the riffs go wild. Pete is funny, kind, and thoughtful. His conversations, especially those with other comedians, will have you laughing out loud or rewinding the tape to listen to a nugget of honest wisdom again and again. He’s humble, he’s an expert host, and he’s become an excellent role model. Listening to his growth has inspired my own: sobriety, eating less meat, delving into quality spiritual teachers. See him live if you can! Thank you Pete!

    Healing + Comedy
It’s so refreshing to listen to a man who has been in therapy, and is actively trying to heal past trauma. It makes me understand men better in general. Plus, it’s funny! This podcast has slowly grown on me to the point where it’s my comfort listen! Anytime the world feels out of control, Pete and Val bring me back into my body. I also love hearing the diverse voices of comedians, and how different, yet the same we all are.

This pod rules, and this pod also suggested Valley Heat! Omg🙌 Thnk you!

    Missed the mark
Lisa Gilroy is a comedic goddess. I had high hopes for the episode. But Pete kept asking about her age and riffing on sex stuff that would be predictably funny to an adolescent boy. It was boring. And we know: you didn’t get good sleep because Lila yakked. And you didn’t do any research. Boo hoo.
  • Emmie McG
    Love this Lisa Gilroy Episode!
This episode is making me so happy and full of joy. This is a great episode
  • Nikki Smurfy
    Amaze!!
Fantastic, all the way around! Thank you for you and Val and all you share and THANK YOU for VALLEY HEAT!!

    Joyful
This podcast is everything! I stumbled down this rabbit hole of Pete Holmes and I’m so happy I did. His book brought me so much joy and peace knowing that there are plenty of other wonderful weirdos out there asking similar questions about these spacesuits in which we walk around pretending it’s not completely absurd. I’m so grateful for this hilarious human and the love he shares with everyone he encounters. This podcast is lovely and I’m so happy there are so many episodes to enjoy. Thank you, Pete and Val, for keeping it crispy!

    Pete is my best friend
I’ve been listening for like ten years. He’s been such a constant companion and reliable pal. Funny, kind, thought-provoking. Not a huge fan of We Made It Weird” (that’s not what I want from this podcast) , but I just don’t listen lol, no disrespect. Keep it up Pete, I’m a loyal, lifelong fan. Saw you in Chicago couple of years ago. If I have the chance and the means, I’ll see you whenever I can.

Not into Podcasts? You sure? Listen to this
I’ve not been a podcast person and I first came across this on YouTube. Once you start watching and listening to these podcasts you will never stop. Very inspirational, very deep conversations of all kinds. I’m sure there are bad shows, but I haven’t found one yet. Keep it up Pete and Keep it Crispy!

The Best Crunchy and Most Crispy Pod
This podcast is the *only* podcast I regularly listen to. The insights and stories of Pete, Val, and Pete’s guests have undoubtedly deepened healthy neural pathways and the smile lines on my face. Thank you, thank you, *thank you.*

No one has conversations like these
Pete Holmes is unique among comedy podcast hosts because he's unafraid to go down rabbit holes and pull his guest and the audience with him. Also (and this is a small thing) I will forever be grateful for his eye-opening observation about Mike Birbiglia's speech cadence. The episodes with the two of them burning each other are fantastic.

    Some episodes make my day
Some of the episodes are very good. The ones that become philosophical are excellent

    BEST pod
This podcast has made me a better person, both to myself and others. Not to mention it’s hysterical and Pete’s interviews get totally different info out of the guests than normal

    Be Playful
I SO LOVE this show!! I’m cracking up with laughter, I’m pondering oneness, I’m wishing they’d acknowledge that Cinnamon Toast Crunch is Cheerwine… Pete’s energy can be like an energetic puppy: Wanna play?Wanna play?Wanna play? Wanna play?Wanna play? How ‘bout now?Wanna play? Now?Do you now?How ‘bout now?Wanna play? and IT’S DELIGHTFUL when guests say YES & they get down there & chase each other & roll around & play, play, play. AND it’s delightful when his energy is more therapeutic or connected or curious. Fridays with Val are sweet and funny. Any time I need a lift - PRETTY FREQUENTLY LATELY - I listen to this podcast.

Wine-swilling money-grubbing atheist loves the show
As a retired tax accountant I am clearly in Pete’s target demographic. I enjoy the pace and tone and listening to the repartee between Pete and his guests. Keep up the excellent and thoughtful work and thanks to everyone who puts the show together for making it for us weirdos!

Great Show, Great Host, Great Guests
This podcast feels a lot different from other podcasts I’ve heard. Very funny and also thought provoking. And just makes you feel good.

    What I’ll spend money on
Just watched the Anna Kendrick episode, my first. I’ve been a fan of Pete from his witty repartee with Colbert, and my love grew with his Make Some Noise roasting of Sam Reich. But this episode changed my life. Like many, I have a ton of reasons to go to therapy. But I’ve never been willing to spend that money on myself. As you and Anna discussed how therapy helps you be better for others, I paused and said to my wife “I’m going to start therapy, because you deserve a better version of me.” Thank you for that gift. I look forward to listening to the rest of your catalog. Love and respect.

    I’ve been missing out!
How have I never listened to this podcast before?? Pete Holmes seamlessly mixes humor and integrity to create entertaining and poignant conversations with his guests. He has such a profound respect for his guests (and listeners) that creates a comfortable and intimate atmosphere for deep discussions.

If there are podcast awards, Pete should sweep em every year
Simply put, it’s the best. I feel like Pete and I are kindred spirits, so I may be biased. But also, I reference this podcast or retell Pete’s stories daily. Go listen.

    Cinnamon Toast Crunch
I would like to put forward that Cinnamon Toast Crunch is Root Beer! They’ve both got that cozy spiced thing going on (root beer has cinnamon notes!) Anyway, this podcast is wonderful. I especially love the Pete and Val episodes- listening to them is fun and refreshing and like being wrapped in a cozy blanket all at the same time. Always feel lighter and energized after listening 🤍

I’m here for the “we made it weird” episodes
Pete and Val always put me in a better mood. Also, if a grilled cheese were a Disney character, it would clearly the candle stick and little clock in Beauty and the Beast who sing “be our guest”
  • alecmcnayr
    Reed Richards is grilled cheese
Love this show. I came for the celebrity interviews but I stayed for Val.

    One of the best!
I look forward to these every week, especially the Friday episodes with Val. We Made It Weird episode 194 is a true comedic masterpiece. In the regular episodes, my favorite question is “have you ever seen a ghost or experienced something you can’t explain?” Brett Goldstein and Bob Saget had the most memorable answers.

    A real, in-depth relatable podcast
I’ve followed Pete since his early days of comedy standup and was lucky to see him live in Chicago a few years ago. To be able to ‘know’ a different side of him, and the fun Friday dates with Val, it’s just the perfect podcast. I always look forward to the releases and return to listen again to those with subjects which resonate. I always learn something new about him, about his guests, about life’s perspective. I end each session feeling I’ve walked away more knowledgeable, more empathetic, more understanding of how paralleled in finding our truth, we really all are in this world. Thanks Pete! Love
My favorite podcast ever. I just listened to the May 29 episode with Judy Greer and it is a perfect example of why this podcast has consistently provided joy in my life for over a decade. I hope y’all continue to grow because the world needs more Pete Holmes. Such a wonderful team behind this pod as well that keeps the quality stellar. Thank you all for what you do ❤️❤️❤️

    I really adore this podcast
I stumbled upon You Made It Weird during the pandemic when I was looking for more positive things to get me through and now it’s like tied with Armchair for my favorite pod. I think Pete does a great job as an interviewer where it just feels like a legit conversation between friends. I also love his current approach and outlook on life, it has a way of making me feel better about being a human when the world starts to get heavy. Ben Schwartz should be on this like every 6 months cuz those episodes are incredible. 10/10 (or I guess 5/5) would recommend this to anyone looking for a laugh, a pick me up or maybe some guidance during an existential crisis.

    Love but ouch
I’ve really started to enjoy this podcast but this last episode of “we made it weird” hurt a bit. Pete, your wife was expressing to you how painful it’s been that she’s being compared to male figures. AKA, it hits her confidence. As a woman, that hurts to ever be compared to a man. And rather than you pick up on it, you doubled down with her… I know with comedians the jokes tends to come first but would it have hurt you to tell her that she’s the apple of your eye? That she’s absolutely wonderful both psychically and mentally? You weren’t there to catch Valerie on that one when she needed you. I love ya, Pete. You and Valerie give me many laughs and many reflective moments but this episode felt like you were getting a bit big for your britches.

    Devoted Weirdos
My husband and I have listened to you for at least 10 years, ever since we heard you had a podcast! We were your fans before it was cool. 🥰 Loved The Pete Holmes Show and Crashing (HBO’s Crashers). We traveled 6 hours to see your stand-up live in Denver and hope to again! You’re our favorite stand-up but your podcast is our most favorite of all your work!! This sounds ludicrous I’m sure, but I truly think you added a dimension to our relationship. It opened up conversations between us about our upbringing in a very strict religion among many other things. The way you deal with the subjects of spirituality, religion and other sensitive issues with humor and compassion is so special and has helped me more than you know!!! And, of course, I love Val to pieces too! This is the only podcast I await with bated breath every week. You make us laugh so hard and make my day better. Pretty please don’t stop recording!!! A million thanks for all you do! Proud to be a Weirdo, Cassi

    Love Pete dearly but…
I have enjoyed this podcast for years, and I love his specials as well as Comedy Sex God. It took time to adjust to the shift away from pure comedy as the podcast matured, but I usually love most of the conversations, and I’ve grown to love hearing from the always wise Val. Today, however, I cringed hearing Pete tell Natasha Leggero that he wasn’t aware of the climate models predicting the loss of coastal areas, and didn’t think it was a big deal. I’ll fully admit that I turned off the podcast at that point, so I don’t know how the conversation ended up. I absolutely get that people have “brands” and that sometimes as a creative, you can’t stay up to date on all the details. But you can’t complain that social media keeps us from sharing reality, as you did at the start of the episode, and then make it clear that you’re tuned out in other ways. This is the kind of thing that makes me lose patience with the many lengthy conversations about Pete’s spiritual journey. There is a dangerous disconnect between abstract ideas about Being and “non-duality” and the very concrete reality of suffering in the world. Just once I wish Pete would consult an Eastern Orthodox Christian theologian to hear about a theology that is non-dual (or at least non-Cartesian), incarnational, and that addresses suffering with mercy, not abstract detachment or ketamine or whatever. I say all of this with great love and appreciation for Pete’s brilliance in the world of comedy and writing. My humble suggestion would be to anchor your public presence in those areas, and to privately expand your knowledge of what is coming.

A Podcast For The Ages (whatever that means)
I’ve been listening to Pete since the very first episodes and have listened regularly since. Other podcasts have come and gone from my cue but in 10ish years I have never tired of Pete. I feel like I’ve heard his evolution and journey of self in those years and have such a soft spot for him in my heart. I feel a kinship listening to his real, vulnerable experience between the push and pull of a creative journey and a spiritual one. He connects in a special way with all of his guests, leading to the most interesting conversations. The addition of Val since The Panini™️ warms my heart. She is the loving, calming force I need to hear from and their relationship and their giggles are my favorite. Okay this is getting so creepy love you both keep it crispy byeeeee -Olive

When Petey Poo is perfect for you it’s ohhhhh so good
I waver on flavors,or picking favorites all the time. But when something hits just right, I fall deeply in love. Pete is me, he is you, he is all of us. And he throws the doors to his heart and his mind wide open with a comically large welcome mat that reads “Keep it Crispy” It is a true roller coaster of emotions every time you listen to his podcast. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll love it more than Cats. He gets so honest and real and vulnerable with his guest that it feels like the three of you are just out for some drinks. Needing to work a second job to pay the mortgage, this podcast gets me through it. Every time, I’m left fantasizing that I may someday get a chance to riff with Pete.
