    Fun interaction between good friends
I am certain I reviewed FatT before, I guess Apple ate my homework. Friends at the Table has been a source of joy and a balm in my life over the past 8ish years. I did not really care about actual play before listening to this podcast, and honestly I still don’t - what I care about is listening to these friends play together and the drama and excitement that comes from “play to see what happens”. My favourite podcast by far.

    Best Actual Play Podcast
Criminally underrated; every member of the cast brings something different to the party, and Austin is a peerless worldbuilder.

I’ve been a supporter for years and I’ve only ever been blown away by anything the Table Friends have done. 10/10!!!

    Truly brilliant in all respects.
Maybe my favorite podcast ever, DEFINITELY my favorite actual play. The Friends are funny, witty, charming, thoughtful, heartfelt, and generous, as players and storytellers. I have learned so much about games, stories, and their intersection from this podcast, and specifically how to be a great GM from Austin Walker, who is (in my humble opinion) head and shoulders above pretty much anyone else out there (yes, even your faves,) in terms of his creativity and skill. He inspires me to think more critically about my own work in the TTRPG space. You who are just starting to listen to FatT, I envy you the deep joy of getting to discover these worlds and these characters. Enjoy!

Fun Gameplay, Interesting Storytelling, and Beautiful Friendship.
I cannot possibly put into words exactly how much love and adoration I feel for this show and the beautiful works of art that come from each new season. The ability for all cast members to create and embody such full, lived in characters, the intriguing and mesmerizing settings that spring to life from the incredible world building, and the genuine sweetness and care between good friends are just a few of the things that make my heart sing with every listen. I cannot recommend this show enough, nor could I ever thank the cast enough for the brilliant worlds they’ve made and the way that each and every one has sunken deep into my own heart.

    It’s the best one
From bottom to top, from start to finish, Friends at the Table is, even at ten years, ESPECIALLY at ten years, the best actual play podcast currently being produced. FatT manages to maintain the feeling of being a game played by friends rather than a performance by actors while hitting the absolute heights of production value. No one does it better, and I mean no one.

    How to kill a mockingbird
Got so excited that keith referenced the spinning t.rexes from the iconic flash video (palisade ep 62) I finally decided to take the “write a 5 star review plunge”. Thanks for making such a great show ! After 4.5 years I am almost caught up :)

    Fantastic Actual Play
Hands down the best actual play podcast. They all have great chemistry, play interesting games and Austin is an unsurpassed GM.

    Absolutely superb. Perfect.
I’ve been listening since 2015-2016. Completely amazing. I’ve been relistening to older arcs lately and it’s wonderful escapism in these strange times. Just as good the second (or third!) time. This is the perfect podcast.

    Fresh and thoughtful tabletop improv
I love listening to friends at the table. This show has shaped the way I run and play in my own games. Each member of the cast brings an incredible, unique energy to the group and have helped to create some of my favorite fantasy and sci fi settings in fiction. There’s an amazing amount of free content here- I’m subscribed to their Patreon and have been listening regularly for 4 years and I’m only *almost* caught up to their current episodes. I started listening at Partizan, their crunchy sci fi season about the start of a rebellion, and then went back to the beginning and listening through all of Hieron and the Divine Cycle series. Jack’s music is a highlight- one of my first dates with my partner was listening to their music and nerding about how how friends at the table has changed the way I think about telling stories. I highly recommend giving them a listen- my favorite way to introduce new people to the show is Bluff City Fiasco or Partizan.

i’m not joking when i say FatT changed my life
My life is so enriched by the absolutely ridiculous circumstances that brought me to this podcast. I’ve discovered a passion no tbh for TTRPGs and for storytelling in general that I had no idea I had the capacity for. Thank you, you gay nerds ❤️

    Absolutely Incredible
The cast of characters and NPCs are always a blend of cool, funny and thoughtful that blends together perfectly. I’ve immensely enjoyed every season. The stories are great. The sidebars are great. The inspiration and variety of games played is great. If you like actual play podcasts, Friends at the Table is the best in my opinion. I’ve played Galactic, Scum and Villainy, Steal the Throne and The Quiets Year because of this podcast.

The podcast I recommended to all my friends
I listen to a lot of actual play podcasts, but Friends at the Table will always be my favorite. Come for the phenomenal world building and revolutionary storytelling. Stay for the funny hosts, larger than life characters with ridiculous names, and episodes that make you laugh and cry multiple times over. I’ve never reviewed anything but I had to with this show. It’s good!

    My Favorite Fiction Podcast
I’ve been listening to this podcast for 8(!) years, and every time I think the cast has peaked, they outdo themselves again. If you like thoughtful storytelling, expansive sci-fi /fantasy world building, BEAUTIFUL music, and people having fun playing tabletop, FatT is for you!
  • silas_the_eel
    Fantastic
I love this show. There’s a great combo of compelling world building, moving story, and just plain fun. It’s great for taking a long walk, or listening while doing a repetitive task, though I have occasionally had to stifle laughter at work.
  • Vikki AB
    Amazing!
This podcast has genuinely some of the best storytelling I’ve ever experienced. They are all amazing storytellers. These are some of the most radical, revolutionary stories I’ve ever heard. Austin’s intros to Palisade specifically are so freaking good.
  • HydeTheSturdy
    Been a long time coming
I’ve listened to this show on and off since high school, and now am extremely devoted to the show itself and this team and their various endeavors. If you really get into the show, you’ll probably get sucked into the cast as people as much as the characters they all play so well. Marielda was where I started and while it’s dated now it’s still a favorite of mine.
  • Alvin aloysius
    You should listen to this
The only actual play podcast I have ever enjoyed.

    Changed my life
I have never liked any media more, and will never again. I have failed as a podcast listener for not rating sooner. Truly the best podcast there has ever been, no contest.

Recognizing the talent of the friends at table
I’ve been listening to this podcast for a while. One of the elements that has really started to stand out over time, is Jack. The ability to create powerful music that is just amazing for the moment. A genius. I understand why there are offers to purchase the music created… Because genuine artists deserve to be able to pay their bills… they make the world a more beautiful place with their talents of immersion.

    It’s simply the best
It’s a smart show about folks that love telling stories together. The characters are always interesting and they showcase some incredible game systems that I would have never known about without listening to the show. Can’t recommend enough!

    The best real-play podcast
This is the real deal, an actual play podcast that manages to tell great stories without losing any of the surprise and magic that comes from friends playing RPGs. The editing and sound design is also excellent (barring the first few episodes 😉) Do you have it? 🐼

The best AP cast out there.
This show saved my life, plain and simple. I found it as a fan of Austin’s work during a very difficult time and it helped me work through it by providing a much needed escape for my brain. Cut to five years later and I’m still as big a fan as I was then, if not more. Better worlds are possible.
