Why am I still listening to ads after paying for the audio subscription?!
    This is ridiculous. And greedy.

    Need to be more balanced
I’ve listened to The Daily for quite some time now. This election season has been a bit painful to listen to because the information is not offering a balance, in my opinion. Maggie H should be relabeled Maggie HATERman. Her disdain of Trump spews out in snide commentary and sarcasm. I would hate my job too, if my job was to forge relationships with people who are in the universe of the person whom you can’t stand. Do better.

    Truly Unbelievable Bias
This isn’t anything new but my god the post election coverage is so biased. The other candidate won, stop sowing division.

So that’s a very temporary one star dudes and dudettes
I would like to make what IMO would make a truly useful podcast that would actually make a difference in people’s lives! As oppossed to contributing to a massive amount of post- election neurosis. There is a Wallace/Tarantino interview in which T talks about playing with people’s emotions - scaring them - grossing them out. But you guys just are not stopping with the election thing. I have heard some of the most wondrful podcasts on the daily. I am a big fan of both Michael & Sabrina. But how about another topic in the very near future. Possible uplifting subjects could be something about dogs or cats. Perhaps a push for people to adopt a rescue which would in fact rescue them from thinking of the current political situation. Another topic could be the best comfort foods for getting through hard times. etc

    Unfortunate
I’m so disappointed in how you are normalizing Trump and his policies.

An election debrief with no mention of voter suppression?
As the Rupert Murdoch empire continues to kill journalism, I rely in part on the New York Times, the BBC, NPR, and others, to bring me unbiased news and in-depth news analysis. But how can you conduct a debrief of the 2024 election, as you did on 2024.11.06, without once mentioning the effect voter suppression had on the outcome?? The Roberts court gutted the Civil Rights Act and Voting Rights Act, across the South record numbers of polling stations were closed in Black and/or poor neighborhoods almost exclusively, in the past two years the M.A.G.A. wing of the G.O.P. assaulted and often colonized swing state election boards, in that span multiple onerous new restrictions on voting rights were instituted, and up until Election Day Eve reports confirmed swing state ballots were being thrown out at record, heretofore-unseen rates. Yet, somehow, it is so baked into your d.n.a. to uphold the myth of U.S. exceptionalism that you cannot bring yourselves to report on how increasingly unrepresentative of the national will our elections have become. I sincerely hope you and others survive the full-on attack on the First Amendment which the Koch/Trump cartel oligarchy will surely launch … and I bemoan that the insidious assault launched by the behemoths of capitalism against independent local journalism over the last three-and-a-half decades has basically succeeded in killing local presses… …but ye cats, you cannot continue sucking up to the corporate interests who benefit from this “U.S. exceptionalism“ myth, yet still succeed in reporting the truth: at some point, you need to choose the public interest over the genteel lie. Just frikkin’ say out loud, “the accelerating conservative attack on voting rights and on voter turnout is succeeding beyond their wildest dreams, and its impact on election outcomes cannot be denied,” and you will become part of the solution, rather than passive abettors of the problem! The truth is in the data, and it is staring us in the face. But to wake up the U.S. public to that truth in the data, it will take an act of journalism … and by the cuckoo’s beard, I hope one day you commit it!!

Trump again-not taking it to the streets
I proudly voted to Kamala Harris and would do it again. A great podcast as it pointed out that the Democratic party-namely Joe Biden missed the beat on the country. In 2016+ I was appalled at Trump’s policies only to see that this election many of the groups that his administration went after voted for him-with enthusiasm. He is their problem now. With the popular vote, electoral college, Senate and House he will have no one in his way but also no one to blame. I hope he makes the country stronger. I hope his policies help everyone.

No one cares that you aren’t getting sleep!
I listen to this podcast everyday. No one cares that you’ve had little sleep doing your job. It’s your job! Shut up and stop complaining!

    Surprised at this Podcast
I came to this podcast as a conservative, who honestly didn’t have great opinion of the NYT. I’ve listened to a few episodes since the election, and I was surprised by how unbiased it was. The presenters are obviously left leaning, but they still present the information in a way that doesn’t demonize a listener like myself. That’s a refreshing change of pace compared to other media sources.

    So biased
To find the bias, you only need to look to the recent Donald Trump podcast where the speaker blamed the Israel Gaza war for Trump winning. It implausible that an educated person believes that the 44k votes Jill Stein got in Michigan explain why Harris lost in EVERY battleground state- more likely the deep bias against Jews talking

    Garbage
THESE PEOPLE, the legacy media that is, is the reason that the democrats are in the position they are in now. Nobody wants to be lied constantly. This is completely Biased propaganda from the far left. If you’re looking for the truth look elsewhere. Complete Woke journalism. Finally Trump can expose them for the pieces of rotten satanic journalism they truly are.

    A Very Dark Era
For the first time in my life, I am ashamed to be an American.
  • I'm from Pennsylvania
    Appreciate it — but
Astead Herndon is unbearable in the ‘Trump, Again’ episode. Wow. I guess the misogyny is more ingrained than racism. That’s all.

    Dystopian Narrative
In the latest installation of The Daily podcast, I am appalled at the following quote from Lisa Lehrer. This is NOT a historic first. History bears witness to the election of MANY fascist dictators. Among the worst was Adolf Hitler who also appealed to the economically suffering masses during the interwar period. The New York Times reporting throughout this campaign has been nothing short of a biased viewpoint toward Donald Trump giving him way too much attention without fact checking his false rhetoric. How did this happen? Our newspapers are now controlled by corporate greed, and true journalism is dead. I hold you personally responsible for helping elect the worst US president in history. “Well, this is a huge accomplishment. I mean, I've been thinking about how, in a way, Trump is his own historic first. You know, we talk a lot about barrier breaking candidates and Vice President Harris would have been the first female president.” Lisa Lerer

    Subscription model
I would rather you just make it a subscription model right up front instead of locking it after I’ve downloaded it to listen to in the future. At least then I won’t waste my time. I enjoyed listening but there are way too many options to pay extra for this. You lost me.

More voices like Astead on the show!
Listening to this the day after the election and I really appreciate Astead W. Herndon’s perspective. I have struggled with some of the narratives the Times and the daily have presented (especially around Gaza) and have finished episodes feeling annoyed or disheartened. But i appreciated Asteads instance on adding why the dems lost and making sure that nuance is a a part of the conversation. definitely will be listening to the run up now but appreciated having him on the daily too!
  • mezzopoet
    Well, well, well
Tuning in to “Trump, Again” the day after the election. Wouldn’t you know, one of the panel members has ALL the answers and wallows in his desire to crucify the Democratic party! He knows EXACTLY what went wrong! His hindsight is 20/20!!! Meanwhile the others are the true journalistic minds here, thoughtful and measured. I recommend the excitable one temper his disdain and arrogance and learn from his colleagues.

    Missing key Trump pieces
Agree with much of the analysis and need to point out the things missed - as a women who is registered independent and voted for Obama and H Clinton, I voted for Trump because I want him to stop the wars, don’t trust Harris as she’s part of the system and is trying to be an actress (I’m open to a woman but she wasn’t the right candidate), and we need to counterbalance and have diversity for all - not diversity for only women and people of color. Not to mention stop oppressing women by letting men compete in our sports - Democrats have to protect women too beyond abortion. I’m pro choice - but I can’t be anti woman.

    Clear Bias
I love this show, but there is definitely a clear bias. Makes it difficult to listen sometimes.
  • Mark_Alexander_Jr
    Just can’t help itself
Unbelievably biased storytelling, with an occasional smattering of facts. Even after Trump wins a majority of American voters, their very next episode spews flat out lies and unquestionably biased opinion about not only the candidate but also his voters. This publication is headed the wrong direction, still.

    Love
Never miss a day, and is a show I send to people more than any other-I just wish they would have ‘the Sunday read’ read by the actual author. The Professional readers sound like robots.

Carry on. Truth doesn't make you biased.
Too many people complain that the news is biased because they report on the crazy, racist, and dangerous things Trump actually says and don't spend equal time trying to manufacture equivalent negative coverage of the Left. It's not bias--it's because it's not equivalent or even comparable. As a 30-year Republican, I don't hesitate to say the party is destroyed, unrecognizable. You cannot compare mainstream extremism on the Right to the farthest fringe of the Left. You can't pretend they're the same. It's not biased to finally, finally acknowledge the truth.
  • DMorphies
    Unbearable Bias
The bias, though high quality, is quite apparent. Just be aware when listening to this podcast that your not getting it down the middle but clearly for one side.

Lies and snark from the dying legacy media
Stop lying to us. You no longer have any power. Legacy media will go the way of the pay phone, not soon enough.
  • worrrieddad
    Ridiculous
Literally speaking about all the proof of election fraud from 2020. People make mistakes they are tired and overworked. Such a wild take.
  • Donnertal
Love the concept, but left leaning and full of bias.
Sorry it’s tough to rely on something for news that has bias and agenda. It loses its integrity. Its character is flawed. It’s predictable. You can hear it in every voice. You don’t hear ‘Hurricane Helene hitting the shores today’ you hear ‘Hurricane Helene, most likely due to global warming, will reach the Carolina’s’. They don’t know that…no one knows that…but they will say it. Journalism must find a way, under the 1st amendment, to repair their gaping chest wound.

    Pro trump headlines every day
Now according to new York times Donald Trump is "mythical" they really are going all in for him. Inserting kamala laughing soundbytes behind the reporter now with no explanation when her name is mentioned as well. Update October 31 2024: they are still all in for Trump. Interviews with all the " black former democratic" voters they can find. Corporate shills
  • Reluctantconversationalist
A shadow of its former self
I used to love The Daily. I’m not sure I’ve ever missed an episode. This year, however, the show has veered away from news and real journalism. Everything seems to be a summary of pollsters’ finding. Let’s talk to some tiny sliver of the electorate! Let’s talk about what very few people care about instead of meaningful long form and investigative journalism! Do better.
  • Arizona liberal
    Trash
Biased and naive. The hosts are so arrogant. Instead of letting listeners hear what others have to say, Sabrina and Michael constantly cut to their own interpretations to shape the narrative. It is manipulative propaganda, not journalism.
  • AtlantaChurch2000
NY Times out of touch and in full panic mode
The Times is completely out of touch with regular Americans and is having a full blown meltdown as the election winds down. It’s sad, because it undermines all the legitimate and necessary critique of Trump and MAGA which is desperately needed. America needs the Paper of Record to do better and try to actually understand regular people and not demonize those outside of elite coastal cities.

    10/31/24 The Reckoning is here…..
We gotta be honest people….. I voted against Trump, twice. I bought the “Threat to Democracy” nonsense. Ya’ll (Mainstream & Left Wing Media) has radicalized Progressives. Two attempts on DT just in the summer? You call DT the second coming of Hitter every day for 8 years, what do you expect? In their minds, it’s heroic. Now? I’m voting for Trump. The Mainstream Media needs to look itself in the mirror. Self Awareness is needed 💯
  • BrandonSF 415
Why can’t they maintain unbiased journalism?
They do an entire episode about Trumps final campaign event and they have a panel of 3 people who are all against Trump and for Harris and this is supposed to be unbiased journalism? Why not have 1 person on the panel that doesn’t agree so we can have dialogue? Or why not just report the news in an unbiased way.

    Carry on!
I love this show! I am a news junkie and stalwart centrist. I find this podcast to be the most accurate, objective, open minded, unbiased and investigative of all those that I know of. Even the main host occasionally admits that he learned something new. We need more shows like this, or you need to reach more listeners. Carry on…😎
  • CRJ84531
    Wildly one sided
One sided show whose hosts have lost their minds over the 2024 election. Everyday hysterics over the “racism” and “mysoginy” of the republicans while completely ignoring the ludicrous antics of the left. They spent a whole show talking about MSG event while ignoring Biden’s “garbage” comment. The hosts would benefit from taking a walk outside, talking to real people outside their bubble, and generally re-entering reality.

    Astead Herndon
Astead Herndon is a treasure, doing the ground level listening to fellow Americans that's so sadly missing from our hyper-partisan politics. It's sometimes hard to stomach hearing what people are thinking when it seems so crazy, but it's so important to try to understand. More Astead!
  • JustWantedAGoodStory
    Such a shame
Your reporting on Trump/Harris campaigns has been deplorable. You treat Trump like an upstanding gentleman, and it’s extremely gross. What I don’t understand is, if you help to elect him, which it seems like you’re purposefully trying to do so you… I don’t know… sell more “papers”?… the free press will be in SUCH danger. You should have been doing everything you could to call this man out for what he is, rather than appear to be “unbiased” by treating Trump and Harris as respectable equals. We all know they are not. Anyway… I used to be a proud NYT subscriber, but 2024 lead me to canceling. And I will happily not go back.
  • didocownenrbci
    Disappointing
So obviously left leaning although they act like they’re not. Why is it so difficult to get a true non-biased media source like true journalism should be??
  • S_B25
    Painfully biased reporting
10/30 : you continue to insert your bias into every podcast. It’s actually astounding how impartial your team can be, manipulating headlines, blurbs, and interpretations of the right into your pod to paint their entire party as vitriol. You people are classless and unprofessional. Although I have different political beliefs than many of your reporters I listen daily for other perspectives and interesting stories. I think all people should do this so we don’t find ourselves with tunnel vision. However, I cannot really understand how your reporting has any ethics or integrity at all. The things you need to say you avoid, or in a roundabout way you’ll skirt past them and say just enough to fit your narrative or agenda. This is the problem with American media outlets. You won’t just say what needs to be said (facts) and you’re too busy building a narrative that supports your own personal beliefs.
  • lixiang7349
    It’s a great pod but
Astead W. Herndon needs to stop overusing the word “like” when talking. He sounds very unprofessional and uneducated.
  • CaraHeps
Unsubscribing as a long time listener
As someone who went to school for multimedia journalism and enjoyed a career in reporting (inspired by the once great, like NYT) I’m so disappointed to see the New York Times disgracing the name of journalism by using their power, to spread opinions. At this point it’s an opinion column. What a shame.

    Please don’t change!
I like listening to this podcast. Michael and Sabrina do a good job interviewing and reporting on the issues of the day. This latest episode though had waaay too much vocal fry ( the a…a…aaa..aa… sound in vocal chords people have nowadays). It was difficult to listen to for me. Please don’t change in that way! Keep it clear.
