    It’s fine.
If you want a very surface level recap of Twin Peaks this is fine. There were a couple comments or facts that I thought were interesting and had not considered or heard thought too much about. They probably do deserve some the benefit of the doubt cause it looks like this was recorded like ten years ago and at least started before The Return came out. But, overall - I just watched for the first time and I just feel like there was ALOT these guys either mischaracterized or didn’t clock or appreciate. There’s probably better content out there if you’re interested in really digging into Twin Peaks, and I think that’s why this podcast bugs me a bit, they don’t seem to think there’s much to dig into. Also, there are alot of pauses that are way too long I feel like could have been edited out, and the hosts do interrupt each other alot.

    Greetings from 2021
It was said a few times that the hope was that this podcast would be an archive that could be revisited by people who discover Twin Peaks at a later date. I am confirmation that this can happen, as I’ve watched the first two seasons and fire walk with me in the last month and have been immensely helped by this podcast. Looking forward to getting into the return and hearing your first impressions.

Jake and Chris true book house boys
Here’s my rabbit hole: I searched for a Twin Peaks podcast because after watching “The Big Lebowski” for the umpteenth time. I listened to the Gutterballs podcast. Brad and Adam are not Jake and Chris. They often go of on tangents that have nothing to do with the movie they are reviewing. One of those tangents is Twin Peaks and David Lynch. I was about 30 when the show originally air and didn’t remember it being on the air. After watching the 1st episode I needed answers as to why this show has a cult like following. Jake and Chris’ rewatch podcast was the perfect solution. I plan on leaving some questions and comments on idle thumbs and hope they do periodic revisits.

    Time for another rewatch?
I think it would be interesting to revive this podcast, this time with a rewatch of The Return! Would be cool to hear some fresh insights from the perspective of Chris and Jake having seen the whole thing before. Regardless, thank you for having made this podcast. It’s seriously enriched my experience of Twin Peaks.

    Light hearted and informative!
I rewatch all of Twin Peaks and FWWM during the grey days of post holiday winter. It’s fun to listen to each episode (now my third time) with Jake and Chris. They are funny and lack the stuffiness of the “radio voice” some podcasters have. I literally feel like I’m sitting around the table hashing out our favorite parts of Twin Peaks. I’m rewatching The Return now and the podcast continues to give info and incite. Thanks guys for all your hard work! This nerd appreciates it!

    Great TP podcast
This podcast is the absolute best way to get through the low points in Season 2! These guys are hilarious, they had me gasping for air I was laughing so hard.

    Fantastic Podcast
Very smart commentary with entertaining and knowledgeable hosts. I've only listened to their episodes on The Return so far, but I'm definitely going to go back and listen to their coverage of the original seasons and Fire Walk With Me as well. Loving it!

Good but needs better sound quality
The positive was I felt like I was overhearing an intelligent conversation about Twin Peaks--which is always welcome. But the sound quality made me have to turn it off. Unpleasant levels made it hard to listen. Please improve your audio!

I love you guys! Bummed about the end (?) of Twin Peaks, but can't wait for the rewatch

    Great podcast
So here is my other theory: Judy is the bug that crawled inside Sarah Palmer and became her. Bob took possession of Leland when he married Sarah to be close to Judy after mike left him. The Fireman created Laura Palmer as a containment, as well as a wellspring of garmonbozia for Sarah/Judy through Leland/Bob over the years. The drink Leland makes Sarah every other night is garmonbozia from Laura's pain and suffering. Leland started developing a desire for Laura which is why he was having sex with Teresa Banks who reminded him of Laura. He found out his daughter was affected by bob and that his daughter was no longer pure and bob robbed her of that. He killed Laura to stop the cycle of pain and suffering. That opened the door for bob to escape serving Judy, and the black lodge through cooper. Doppel-Cooper and bob spend the next 25 years trying to figure out a way to escape into the alternate dimension. While the good cooper works with the fireman to trap Judy in the Palmer house by taking Laura before she got killed to change the past in twin peaks. When that happened it created a new time stream for twin peaks which everyone's reality changed to a dream except for Judy who is trapped in that alternate time loop in the Palmer house. The positive ending: The fireman re acquired Laura back to the white lodge and send her to the alternate universe as Carrie Paige. Bob is destroyed and Judy is trapped in the dream of future past. Cooper knows he can never return to this twin peaks universe since part of his soul and Diane's was entwined with black lodge at some point but forgets until he is at the end of his journey the last scene. This creates a new cooper with both good coop and bad coop all in one person as it shows when he entered the new dimension as Richard. Diane and cooper are given a new identity in the new universe and can never return because both have been trapped in the black lodge. 2 birds one stone. However the trauma that resonates the Palmer house time loop transcends parallel universes, so the Palmer house is now a haunted place. When Richard brings Carrie to the Palmer house the haunting reaches out to Carrie which brings back trauma of Laura's death is why she screams. Richard finally starts to piece together that he is no longer agent cooper. Richard and Carrie Paige return to the Palmer house to find out that the real life owners now lives there in our reality, which breaks the 4th wall. The negative ending: Sarah Palmer/Judy figures out coop is trying to help Laura escape. Judy steps in and takes Laura and place her into another Dimension coop has to follow to this alternate dimension. This brings up the question of past lives, are they past lives of our universe or do we experience our own alternate dimension selves? Another coincidence dougie is named for coops love of Douglas Firs per beginning of twin peaks series and Carrie Paige is referring to Laura's missing page in her diary.

    Clean and Reasonably Priced
This podcast is very awesome. The hosts discuss the show with impressive expertise and insight. I am constantly impressed with how they eloquently describe Twin Peaks scenes, while also adding insight and hypotheses that add depth to the viewing experience. Also, the respect they have for each other adds to the enjoyment, and they compliment one another well.

    Was my favorite podcast
I have listened to every episode by these guys and truly loved their show when I was preparing for The Return. However, if you are looking for a show that does more than just recap the most recent episode this podcast isn't for you. All of their episodes concerning Twin Peaks the Return refuse to speculate and question what is going on in the show. They spend an hour retelling us what we have already saw. As an avid listener it honestly feels as though they no longer like the show but are still making episodes about it...

Fantastic review of the TP world, its creation, contexts and effects through The Return.

A Great archieve of information from episodes past and present
What I like about this podcast is that it wasn't meant to be for the new series. Rather, it was a rewatch of the older episodes and other material from Twin Peaks. This helps with getting some great insight on the previous episodes, and now with the new season of the series, it helps immensely to gather new insights and info to help with Twin Peaks. Another great Twin Peaks podcast to check out.

    Yep
OMG you two have got to stop talking over each other. And if I hear Yep, one more time, I might spit.

Good but could be much better
The podcast can be very good at times, with intellectual discussion and analysis of that week's episode. However, I have to agree with other reviews on one thing. More times than not, the hosts will spend too much time trying to dissect specific scenes and conversations, instead of recapping the episode in a succinct and less "rambling" manner. Another draw back is the amount of time it takes to upload a new podcast. The show will air on Sunday, and a new podcast won't go up until late into Wednesday sometimes. In the time it takes for the hosts to upload a new episode, I've listened to two or three other Twin Peaks podcasts and have satisfied my need for Twin Peaks discussion.

    Great, comprehensive Twin Peaks podcast!
My favorite Twin Peaks podcast. Clear, comprehensive, and with very knowledgeable hosts.
  • mad_foot
    Completely useless
What I want from a podcast like this is smart people trying to untangle the threads of each episode as it happens. That's not what you get here. I got so frustrated with the ep about ep 10 that I turned it off halfway through. The two hosts spent a solid ten minutes hand-wringing and moaning about how future listeners who have watched the whole series will look back and judge them. Well guess what, dummies! Current listeners are your priority! So quit navel-gazing and meta-ing and get to the show! After all that frustration, they don't even provide the slightest background about a character to give you a little reminder of where else you've seen them. I really wanted to love this cast. The two guys are generally funny and seem nice enough. But they need a producer who'll guide them and edit them down. Cripes.

    Essentially awesome companion
My coworker turned me on to this; I'm a fan of the show from the original run and it was great fun to rewatch and listen to this during the midseason break for The Return. Great job y'all. Hope there's an episode specifically for The Final Dossier this fall as well.

Love these guys but the constant interruptions and talking over each other is VERY frustrating. They're clearly both extremely excited to talk about an excellent show but it's a bit overwhelming. Otherwise great content and I can't wait to hear your take on the new season!
  • HCross3
    Mainly just plot analysis
These guys dissect the plot of the new Twin Peaks but the themes and subtext of Lynch and Frost's work completely flies over their heads. If you want simple plot analysis this is a good podcast. If you want someone that digs deeper into Twin Peaks I'd look elsewhere.
  • The Left Arm
    Fantastic!
Great recaps and solid chemistry. By far one of the best regarding Twin Peaks podcasts, very knowledgeable & informative.

    Funny and insightful
I am listening to S2 "Double Play" episode. There were some really crapy ones. Ah bring back the memory. About this episode came out I couldn't bring myself to watch no more.

Another Fan of "you and I"
An interesting podcast. The hosts' bafflement and hilarity at the rough episodes of Twin Peaks( 2nd season) made it worthwhile going through these episodes.Forced myself to go through them just to hear their reaction. Not the most die hard fans of the series but they do their research, and are quite informative.Great podcast!

The only Twin Peaks Podcast you need
Been listening to the old episodes in preparation for the new series during a rewatch and they're fantastic, the guys are really funny and you can genuinely feel their love of twin peaks through the speakers. They're not the biggest twin peaks geeks in the world (yours truly is guilty of that), but I think that's a good thing. They're not up their own asses about the show in an obnoxious way, but you can tell they do their research and rewatch the show very thoroughly to break down scenes and characters at a very microcosmic level. They have a good section of listener mail where nerds like me mail in stuff to think about, facts and behind the scenes stories and detailed analysis that taught me a few things I didn't know. The old episodes are amazing but I wasn't counting on new episodes for the.. new episodes of twin peaks on showtime when I began my rewatch a few weeks ago. Turns out they're doing episodes for the new season that are every bit as brilliant as the original rewatch stuff. Really excited to listen along as I watch and dissect this new masterpiece with a great community of fans and my two old buddies chris and jake (they start to feel like old friends after a while). Can't recommend this show enough. It's the only Twin Peaks podcast you need. It's so good I want to listen to their video game podcast, which I don't really have a lot of need for (still plugging away on my 360) but they're so funny and entertaining I'll take all the idle thumbs I can get. The peaks inspired music rocks too! Also love how each episode starts with a clip from the show. Really feels well put together. If you like twin peaks start listening now!

    A great companion
I first got into Twin Peaks by watching along with this cast when it first started, and it made the experience much more enjoyable. Now that it's back for the new season, it promises to be just as great a companion for the new episodes!
  • mpnewhouse
    Hope they come back soon.
So great. Smart and hilarious commentary and conversation about this weird wonderful show. You can tell they really like the show and each other. Highly recommend.

such a great companion for watching this show for the frist time!
loved having Chris and Jake by my side to process all of what I was seeing. It made the amazing episodes legendary and the meh 2nd season moments intreting and funny. Look forward to listening in 2017 for the revamp!

    Fire Watch With Me
Love it. Love the takes on the show. It's the next best thing to getting a Twin Peaks fix when you can't actually watch the show.
  • The Hungarian
    Enjoyable and Interesting
This podcast is worth a listen if you've seen the series or are just getting into it. I appreciated that there is a spoiler-free discussion for most episodes, but an additional, separate spoiler-filled theme discussion for many episodes as well. My only complaint is that the podcast episodes aren't quite as fun when the series itself gets less fun.

    Yay for Twin Peaks!
I’m a new Idle Thumbs fan, but I’ve always wanted to dive more into Twin Peaks. Great commentary from silly plot lines to Black Lodge lore to cinematography. Chris and Jake are hilarious and great to listen to. Can’t wait for Twin Peaks: 25 years later!!
