Amelia Mitchell-1011High quality podcastThis podcast keeps it so real. Very unique and helpful to critique both sides of our political landscape

E. ChocBoth sides rhetoricThis podcast is very annoying. One side is trying to destroy our democracy while weaponizing Christianity and the other just want a functioning democracy. Justin holds Democrats to standard that he does the GOP. The sheer level of hypocrisy and contradictions among Christians for Trump and the GOP is very alarming. The amount of grace give to Trump is unmatched.

bck2003Christian joe RoganJustin and conspiracy theories about Covid 19 origins, name a better pair. Oh, a group of republicans in Congress decided it’s a lab leak, must be true. Absolutely moronic take

musicfreakeBait and switchNothing more than left wing apologetics. He claims to be non partisan and insinuates that his world view on politics is the true biblical world view. If you disagree you’re idolizing politics. He just shills for the democrats minus abortion. Nothing non partisan about it.

AmandaJBPolitics with a respectful tone & thoughtful nuanceI never thought I’d find a political podcast that commits to using a respectful tone and discussing topics with thoughtful nuance. I especially appreciate their ability to name strengths & weaknesses of any politician, policy, or political party. These gentlemen are a breath of fresh air!

Janet BeanLove your podcast but not your remarks about UkraineI so appreciate what you are doing in discussing politics and faith in a really fair and non partisan way. Thank you for that! I am a Christian who has struggled with both the Republican Party and Democratic Party and am not sure what to think. Your Ukraine comments are very troubling to me, however. A country that has struggled with corruption but also with the desire to align themselves with the west need our help not our condemnation. I live in a conservative state with a Republican senator that has assured me that all of the money we give is accounted for in Ukraine. Please check into Maia .Mikhaluk’s account on Facebook to get a first hand account of a strong Christian woman and the ordeal they have over in Ukraine. God bless you.

Dnice12095Sad states of affairsWhen listening to the comparisons between Trump and Biden’s threat on democracy I was stunned to hear one of the podcasters views. I know we can have our own view and I respect that but when saying Trump and Biden’s threat on democracy are similar I have to remove myself from the conversation. I wish this podcast the best but it won’t have my attention moving forward.

Thin Blue Line 72I really wanted to like this showI listened to multiple episodes, really hoping for a show that would speak to me. What became obvious to me, after a few shows, was the way this podcast leans much more toward the Left politically, even though they claim otherwise. Multiple shows mention President Trump and point the finger at him, and his supports, as being more of an issue than those, for example, that support Black Lives Matter. I am neither Republican or Democrat, I’m Christian. I didn’t vote for President Trump, or worse, Joe Biden. But this program is far from center line and I won’t be listening anymore…I tried.

RosabelleMMBest source of deep political insight that I knowI’m a pastor who tries to look at the news through the lens of Jesus when I preach and teach. These guys have the best conversation going that I know. I learn more than I do on any other podcast about things that are going on that the news doesn’t cover. And I trust their analysis completely because it is so thoroughly soaked in a biblical worldview. Very grateful for this gem of a resource. I immediately listen to every new episode.

richhomequanBlack Evangelical incoherence in modern politicsFor starters, if you come to this podcast just to hear what black theologically conservative leaning evangelicals think about some current social/political events this podcast is for you. If you’ve come to this podcast to learn specifically about national politics in a holistic and relevant way please go elsewhere because the host appear out of their depth either due to their limited familiarity with multiple topics or the inability to scale their collection of views and opinions to result the significant national change they’d like to see take place. A topic where you’ll find the lack of depth apparent is Foreign policy - for worse, president is the main if not the only position people think about relating to electoral politics and foreign policy is the area the president has primary influence on (they nominate military generals, Secretary of State, and hold the nuclear codes just to name a few things). As a result, it’s incumbent that a political podcast that talks about national issues (specifically as a presidential election is upcoming) be educated and likewise educate its audience on international relationships, history, and national security so that listeners can better understand why leaders make the choices they do and how a faithful they might do things different given the circumstances. This podcast does none of this on this topic. Instead the host swing between saying “we’re not experts..but” to saying “maybe we need a foreign paradigm shift.”..statements like these are vague and provide little to no educational value for listeners and amount to pure guesswork. The host should either have more well versed people they trust speak instead or intentionally not talk about these topics given that US foreign policy not only impacts domestic citizens but also the stability of governments and businesses around the world. Regarding scaling.. the host never reckon with why the constituency they represent doesn’t have a single elected official who holds all of or a majority of their claimed positions to the House of Representatives, the US senate, or the presidency and what can be done about that. Rather the analysis seems eerily similar to fringe third parties who have no chance of winning or governing at that level and either continue to dream cast about having more political parties or having the luxury of always being a political backseat driver, but are never in a position of government leadership where their actions could subject to criticism. My recommendation for the podcast is that it stick to encouraging state and local engagement from its listeners and report on the actions and accomplishments it’s local chapters are doing. Another option is highlighting current local and state officials they feel embody what all/most of what they want. Otherwise, they’ll be stuck like all the other irrelevant third parties out there with little or nothing to show for their actions.

Diamond roseyCNN for “Christians”Woke, bias, liberal happy-talk with a sprinkling of Bible verses from the theocratic kingdom of Israel. These people aren’t serious.
-
StevensintheSaharaFaithful listener for 5+ yearsYou will hear truly independent and thought out positions in this podcast. For Christians, it will challenge you to be faithful before being partisan. For non-Christians, it will show you what Christianity truly calls for in the public square. Everyone will find this challenging.

Jennifer_ESTLExcellentBeen rocking with y’all from the beginning! This podcast meets such a great need. I’m wanting to make room so I can give monthly!

Thefin44Episode 200 /May 25 will PREACH!Love all that you guys do to kelp us away from tribalism and true to the Gospel.

Camelot199Great podcast!Justin Giboney and Christopher Butler do a great job of bringing important things to our attention that are going on in U.S. society. Highly recommended.
-
CliffSmithZBRDZAn excellent attemptI love this podcast because the hosts are honest about where they are and what they are trying to do. The divide between the so-called black church and white church, when according to Christ there is only “the” church, is real, and I admire these guys for trying in a very human way to overcome it. Politics is a large part of what drives the division and we need to be able to talk to our brothers and sisters to see where they are coming from. This is an excellent attempt to do so. We need more of this.

Leah_89Recommend this to everyoneThe conversations are so good and so balanced! I learn about politics from a Christian perspective.
-
KristaRidgefieldMomOne of my favorite podcastsI absolutely love and appreciate the discussion between Justin and Chris. I definitely fit their target audience description “are you too progressive for conservatives and too conservative for progressives?” Yes and yes! The topics are relevant and the commentary is balanced and informative. I look forward to every new episode.
-
EM1989Love it.So thankful for these prophetic + needed voices in our current cultural moment. Understanding and articulating the nuanced “politically homeless” position that faithful Christians must hold is a tall order but being done in a masterful and compassionate way here.
-
Zale DowlenWow!What a fantastic discussion of race AND political issues within the church! Great job guys!

JB Audio boiBiased against conservatives and ignorant to current political realitiesJustin and team try so hard to claim non-partisanship but should just be honest that they lean left and vote Democrat more often than not. For example, regarding Supreme Court justice nominee KBJ revealed intellectually laziness as they dismissed Senator Harley’s valid and data driven concerns from the judge’s lenient sentencing of child pornographers. Additionally, Judge KBJ’s inability and unwillingness to define what a woman is and when life begins was abhorrent and shameful. This is an example of how the &Campaign is ignorant as they most likely get their news from biased and corrupt media organizations, including legacy mainstream media as well as D.C establishment mouthpieces, and therefore have been trained to dismiss what is labeled “far right wing” media organizations and dismiss “far right wing” senators such as Josh Hawley. This culminates in the &Campaign becoming easily manipulated into believing lies told to smear people such as President Trump as well lies told to prop up others such as President Biden - and time continues to reveal which vote was the obvious and wise vote in 2020. The &Campaign’s endorsement of Biden over Trump continues to look worse by the day and continues to reveal their lack of wisdom and discernment regarding the modern day realities in our country. The negative impact of Biden and Democrat policies on families across our nation right now is not loving nor compassionate. Another example would be if Trump’s Supreme Court judges help overturn Roe V Wade - a major victory for Christians everywhere which would not have happened if everyone voted like the &Campaign in terms of voting for democrats instead of Trump. There is obviously grace given the current realities are shocking and sad ones to wake up to, as nobody wants to believe our institutions might be both corrupt and incompetent, but such are the consequences of sin. We are all sinners and imperfect, and all need a savior - but we have one in Jesus. As Christian’s we have the Holy Spirit and we don't need to seek teaching from the secular/anti-biblical culture that the left is so quick to embrace. May God give us all more wisdom and discernment, may God let there be light and transparency upon our world so truth may be revealed, and may God enact vengeance and justice upon the evil doers. In Jesus name!

Jeremy D. ScottFresh and unlike the restI’ve been listening to Justin and Christopher for over a year now. But the most recent episode (May 13, 2022) finally pushed me to write the review I keep forgetting to do. I just heard about and learned more about situations surrounding abortion than I have in years. Grateful for a conversation that doesn’t seek to just hit the hits and repeat the overused cliches, but actually highlight how these things affect real people. (Frankly, they should make Rep. McGee a regular, IMHO.) Grateful for the show. Highly recommended. I do wish that they’d dig deeper on their stated preference for “biblical” precedent. Sometimes they assume what they’re saying is biblical, but fail to consider the whole of scripture.
-
drgiv5The best podcast for reflecting on current politicsI listen to this podcast the day it comes out. They apply their Christian perspective to whatever political nonsense is currently happening in America, and it is always insightful and wise. Always. Listening to them is the first time I have felt “at home” listening to someone talk about politics for forty years. Not Republican. Not Democrat. Christian. Finally I have read the book they wrote, Compassion (&) Conviction, which is an excellent summary of their approach to impacting the public sphere. Highly recommended also.

RyanTShannonWe shouldn’t confuse centrism for ChristlikenessI’m confident the hosts’ have a true heart for Christ and being faithful in the public square. In that sense, the podcast is a breath of fresh air. Unfortunately, the podcast misses the mark in my opinion. Nowhere in the Bible are we commanded to run to the center of the American political spectrum. There’s a danger in confusing centrism for Christlikeness. People can faithfully be on both sides of the political spectrum, and have various beliefs. The hosts far too often try to just go against both sides of the issue of the day (sometimes for good reason) to be nonpartisan. This method often leaves analyses of the actual issues lacking. For example, on a recent episode the hosts singled out quotes from Kamala Harris and Secy. Buttigieg on energy in light of the Russian invasion, accusing them of using the moment to push a leftist agenda on energy. The hosts cautioned against confusing politics with good policy (a valid principle) but ignored the actual policy while focusing on these quotes. The truth is that oil production under Biden is up and the administration is working to further increase production. Im sure people on the right could have examples that frustrate them as well. I’m not one to leave reviews (especially negative ones) but i was left very disappointed because of the promising premise of the show.

Dwele1Great show but….I’ve been listening to this show for a few years and though it tries to take a balanced Christian approach to its topics, there is an undeniable imbalance of grace applied to one party over another. There is a tolerance that exists for the hosts party of choice that does not exist for the opposing party. That does not mean they never critique their own party but there are often statements of “understanding” when their own party takes a stance they do not wholly agree with. One of the host said he could not understand why a Christian would vote for Trump in 2024. That lack of understanding did not exist for Christians that voted for Biden. That is the clearest indication of the imbalance of grace. Though I see this imbalance, I will continue to listen. It’s a good show.

jbird1377Solid biblical perspective on politicsI'd have to say as someone who has been a Republican all my life and still generally leans in that direction, I like these moderate democrats. I voted for John Kasich in 2016 and then Gary Johnson, and then wrote in Tulsi Gabbard in 2020. Saw Republicans become more and more like Trump and Democrats shift way too left for me in a lot of ways, and can pretty much count on Justin and Chris to give me some sanity that I don't often find in more mainstream media and cable news. We need more people like these guys to step up and be leaders in solving the country's problems from a Christian framework. I would like their perspective on the topic of the Great Reset/ World Economic Forum/ Davos Summit, that some of my more conservative friends are talking about. Would also like their perspective on various popular black intellectuals and politicians on both sides of the isle and who they personally align most with. For example, Cory Booker vs Tim Scottt or burgess Owens vs Lucy McBath How about Ibram Kendi vs. Thomas Sowell

Jake FunderburkHumble truth telling.I am so thankful for this show. Y’all continue to speak truth to world that needs. I will continue listen, subscribe, and be a patroon. Much love to the & campaign.

Brooke M. R.Refreshing PerspectiveLove these guys and what they’re bringing to the table at the intersection of faith and politics.

being intentionalA growing processBeing raised in a white conservative culture, I have become frustrated with the extreme, dichotomous options. I long to hear different perspectives and Justin and Chris are speaking into my life. I find that 80% of what is discussed reaffirms what I’ve heard or thought, but there is always a great piece of insight that I never knew or considered. Thank you for developing me to be a better citizen, brother and Christian.

PineapplePandaBoiPolitical Analysis in Light of Scripture - PRAISE GODMy consumption of political content often convicts me. Do I fret more about the political and social issues of the world than the things of Christ? This pod has been a godsend in response to this conviction. Justin and Chris do such a good job of unpacking political content in a biblically non-partisan way, and I personally really appreciate it. I hope this podcast and the And Campaign continues to glorify God by growing and spreading the Gospel. Thank you thank you!!!
-
Sanford Perez JrLove it!Truly love this podcast. One of my favorite things is that they come at both sides. Many Christian podcasts are onesided and these Bros, although they might stand strongly in on side, they don’t hold back on firing at their side. That’s the way things should be. We should be politicaly homeless in a sense cause we’re not of this world. Keep up the good work guys!!!
-
NailedOnLensQuality ArguementsPersonally, I don’t agree with everything that Justin and Chris believe, at least politically. However, it is truly a blessing as a believer in Jesus Christ to hear the perspective of another believer who doesn’t compromise on issues the Bible forbids. For example, I believe in limited government spending, whereas Justin and Chris would want more spending than I would call for. However, we both agree on the sanctity of life. Keep up the great work And Camp! P.S. The intro music is definitely the coolest intro ever ;)

Faithful in Falls ChurchEssential Listening!I look forward to this podcast every week. I have been listening to this for more than two years and find it so very helpful! Justin and Chris offer extremely reasoned and thoughtful perspectives on how to be a faithful believer in the public square. My only critique is that there is limited debate on the issues. Chris and Justin may come at an issue with slightly different starting points, but they rarely disagree on anything. The podcast would benefit from some real debate from people who agree on faith but have honest disagreements on how to live out that faith in politics.

J.J. XIIIAmbiguous EmpathyI don’t understand how you guys can say you want to make amends with the queer and trans community cause of the very active work of the church if you don’t bring in real queer/trans guest. Such as Chase Strangio, Dean Spade, Raquel Willis, Alejandra Caraballo, Micah Bazant, Luis Mancheno, or even the people who started the Chicago based The Legacy Project Museum.
-
MMK213I so appreciate this show! This show is so great for addressing both sides of the political aisle from a Biblical perspective, not a partisan perspective. We need more shows like this!
-
Rosie the LiberatorChristlike voice on politicsGiboney offers fair analysis of politicians from both parties with facts and biblical perspectives. I listen to it weekly to find hope and a way to move forward in a space that’s essential to the Nation.
-
Emily MouselThese guys are faithful witnessesI can’t recommend this podcast enough. I’ve learned so much from the thoughtful work of the AND Campaign and this podcast. Justin, Chris, and Michael are clearly committed to Jesus Christ as well as to the people in this world. They are thoughtful and critical, but also gracious and compassionate. If you are looking to learn more about politics, or learn more about how Christians should engage politics, this is the best resource you can find.

Grateful HearerEntirely Necessary! The Church is deprived no longer of intelligent, challenging, informative, edifying, and useful dialogue. Thank you!

mamato3chicasI go to church every time I listen to the Church Politics PodcastJustin and Chris, I am always edified, encouraged, exhorted and sometimes rebuked while listening. Thank you to you both, my brother in Christ. I hope to meet you both here on earth, if not then, in eternity. Prayers and covering for you both and your families. The Lord bless you and keep you and make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you. ✝️

hmteacherAlways reliableI look forward to their podcast! Speaking the truth into both sides of whatever topic they are wrestling with. I appreciate this so much & highly recommend 👍🏼👍🏼 Get your mind right!
-
red_curlz_girlThought provoking, Bible centered discussionI love this pod cast. In the last 6 years I have identified more and more as a politically homeless Christian who struggles with my identity as a Christian who does not see those same values exercised in the political area. These men have such thoughtful and engaging conversations about daily issues, and the way they dissect and analyze the topics gives me hope. I love how they encourage a Christ centered viewpoint that struggles with the nuance in a very vulnerable and honest way. Give it a listen. You will be encouraged and challenged in the best way!
-
cadizeIncredible contentThis podcast has really helped me for the past year as I navigated my faith and politics. I thought I had to be a republican because I was Christian. I know better now.
-
jessg543Absolutely love this podcast!I started listening to the Church Politics Podcast during the summer of 2020 and I’m so incredibly grateful to have had a balanced Christian perspective throughout this crazy time! Justin and Chris do an excellent job of breaking down the facts in a way that explains both sides of a given debate, demonstrating what the Bible has to say about the topic, and then sharing the conclusions that they draw. They are honest and clear about when they are sharing the facts versus when they are sharing their opinions. This podcast is useful and challenging for Christians across the political spectrum, and pushes all of us to focus on the higher calling we have in the public square.
-
BryRob0326One of my favorite podcastsThis podcasts is one of my favorite because I can stay abreast of important things going on in society and culture without the political biases of media. I only wish the hosts or team would consider linking the articles they discuss in the episode in the show notes for that episode. I actually like to read those for myself and the articles can sometimes help provide other references for further reading as well. I know y’all get a fair sure of pushback but thank for challenging my thinking from Biblical world view.
-
fatzrowI wish I found this podcast sooner! The podcast for those who are too progressive for conservatives and too conservative for progressives. Or you know, really anyone who wants to hear people talk about things in and open way where they don’t just criticize one side but look at the good and bad of both sides.
-
Jen OshmanNuanced, Thoughtful, BiblicalThis podcast is a lighthouse in troubled waters for Christians in the 21st century. Thank you, Justin and Chris, for your commitment to Biblical fidelity and needed long conversations. Please, one of you, run for President already!

annie18Invaluable Nonpartisan DiscipleshipI thought I was non-partisan....until I listened to Justin and Chris. They take non-partisan to a whole new level, one that disciples my heart every time I listen. Some people “listen” to the other side ultimately to invalidate it. Justin and Chris are able to listen AND validate aspects of both the right and left while still digging out a deeply inspiring, Christ-centered reaction to the issue at hand. It’s incredible and very necessary for Christians today. My deepest thanks.
