I’d like to emphasize that Vance, Opus Dei, Evangelicals, etc, will all consider any win, including an unscrupulous one, evidence of God’s favor for them and their undertakings.

Hearing their ignorance on the ME made me see this duo, Jared in particular with much less high regard. And now they’re lamenting the deaths of terrorists who killed hundreds of Americans, ones our govt was offering rewards for. Many thousands of lives have been saved by the most targeted, preemptive military operation in history. The Lebanese people’s country was stolen from them they’ve never mentioned it once. I just cannot take the stupid anymore.

Constantly, brings Dems down. Day 1 of the DNC convention, instead of letting us feel happiness & hopefulness for 1 darn night, we were told how it’s all propaganda, no one means anything they say and it’s all political manipulation. Jared and Nick show up every week (and then some) with historical and/or contextual perspective and sometimes insight into who and how the wheels are greased. I LEARN STUFF every episode. In addition, they acknowledge our current reality in a way that we HEAR the motivation/emotion in their voices. Their investment in the world is palpable — and in a way that feels like pure humanity in a world where too little of that seems evident. I can’t say enough about this podcast or them.

Listened to the free version of Jared’s monologue of the death of Kissinger. Succinct conclusion to a life of consequence— awful deadly consequence. Thanks, Jared for putting into words a portion of the sorrow this human brought to humanity. Am I profound enough?

They really go beyond the headlines and add so much value and nuance that has helped me gain a more complete perspective on our current political system, how we get here, and what is at stake.

Guys! Of course, someone will give you money to go past the free 5 minutes, but people of intelligence will not waste money or time listening to two men who have a tentative grasp on english grammar, exhale sweeteners such as “like” and “sort of” instead of pithy observations. I’ve yet to hear on this casts anything that i can’t hear elsewhere and hear it more carefully considered and concisely. I’ll be paying for a poke in the eye before i pay to hear these 2 teenager boys yakking.

Take the episode released today centered on Tucker Carlson getting canned at Fox. The content ranged from hot takes about Gavin Newsom challenging Joe Biden in 2024 and Ben Shapiro taking Tucker’s old prime time slot on Fox to misquoting polls and data sources. I’m left of center and consume a spectrum of media from the nightly prime time Fox lineup to Politico and Axios to Daily Beast Fever Dreams and the Bulwark. This commentary is so incredibly uninformed and out of touch with today’s politics and American political culture. There’s no insight or substance here. I just can’t.

Love listening to Jared & Nick break down topics. Jared, the book is fantastic. And I love some of the recent guest host fill-ins, the Mike Leon guy was fantastic. Keep it up gents!

I don't watch much news as I think it is getting harder and harder for people in general to determine what it real and what is propaganda. However Jared and Nick know what the real scoop is and cut straight to the chase. This is what is going on without a filter. P.S. Can anyone tell me where I can find all the episodes? I have been listening to this pod since 2019 but the episodes only go back to 2021. Thoughts. Ideas. Thank You.

as a Gen-X'er I love this podcast. Let's face it, our generation really got put through the ringer with regards to what we were taught, and Jared does a great job helping us understand how we got to this point. Also, Nick is a fantastic sidekick.

I can’t listen to Nick anymore. He’s a wealthy white man giving many observations and takes as such. It’s not appropriate for this time & joking about horrific people & situations feels unacceptable to me. The audio is horrible as well. Really like Jared & get much more out of his Sunday Bourbon Talks in YouTube. I would check that one out.

The show for 1/4/22 has no audio for Jared. It’s essentially a dead air podcast. Love the show, when it’s audible.

I really wanted to like this podcast, after years of being inside the DC beast, the military & embassies. I share a lot of similar viewpoints in general but, oh f'ng Christ the 'oh but'. Jared comes across as the photo negative version of the crazed uncle cornering you at Xmas babbling on about consipracies. He's a smart guy but not as smart as he thinks & often he loses any trace of common-sense. For some reason he loves engaging in friendly-fire, and anything will set him off against those who otherwise would be fellow travelers. There's a real aspect of puritanism in his emotional screeds. It's s if he really doesn't care about speakig to adults but to sulking English majors. He comes across as exactly what he is; an academic from a mid-tier school who's without any foreign policy, political or economics experience. How he gets any tread on the NYTimes, Salon, etc is a function of how thinly spread the pool of serious deep-thinkers is out there these days. He appeals to the barista going to grade school at night in some mid-sized urban university types. Pity.

Jared, bud, my guy, my hot-but-great-take man, I wish your sound quality matched the quality of your critiques about the US and its relations with power. This podcast would really benefit from that, and it’s already great, so it would make it //even better//! A decent microphone is quite cheap. Anyways, keep doing what you do! Except the part that I’ve mentioned that you should change. Don’t keep doing that. Love you.

I am so glad I found this podcast! Enlightening and a refreshing take in a world full of stank and musty ideas. Thank you for all you are doing to provide us with much needed education. But please, please hire someone to manage your audio quality. I have had to sadly turn off and delete sone episodes because guest would sound tinny or JD would blow out my eardrums when he would get excited and I was wearing headphones. It would be a perfect podcast if you would bring the audio quality up to par!

Any and everyone could do a podcast recapping the day’s news, but only Jared and Nick give you analysis of events through the lens of historical context...knowledge is power, and knowing how we got ourselves into the position we are in now will give us the power to stop it!

I listen to a lot of different podcasts (ranging from very radical, progressive shows to much more mainstream news) and The Muckrake has consistently been the show I look forward to listening to the most. I appreciate that Jared and Nick don’t sugarcoat our current political and social climate. They don’t engage in the “both sides” trap, nor do they put one party on a pedestal, as so many others do - instead, they discuss the failings of politicians of both parties and hold them accountable for their failures that have led us to where we are today. Their personalities work well together. Nick is a straight shooter and analyzes situations in a clear and concise manner while Jared presents an important insight into white identity, evangelical Christians. Together they discuss current events and give listeners a lesson in their historical context, which is key to understanding “Trump’s America”, how we got here and why we are so fractured as a nation. I appreciate the work Nick and Jared put into the podcast and I look forward to listening every Tuesday and Friday.

Jared and Nick have created one of the best political podcasts available. Their insight is in line with my own views as an Independent more often than not. Even so, they always bring something to the table to learn or ponder about. When Jared sighs on the air due to the overwhelming stupidity looming about, it always gives me a chuckle. And as the saying goes, I have to laugh otherwise I’ll have to cry! Keep up the great work guys!

Necessary listening to understand what’s happening and why. I wish it was more enjoyable, but that’s not to say it isn’t entertaining. It’s just an accurate reflection of the state of the world and insights into the reasons behind it.
