I want this to be a TV show
Thank you Nick Thune for telling us about this

    Appreciation
Doug’s a great guy and we appreciate him for helping me find Jan Robinson’s Adult Cereal. We don’t hear enough of Pete’s side of the story, so maybe Pete should do a podcast too. Just an idea. There are more effective ways to deal with crowd but I can’t type that online because it’s not allowed in Burbank but Doug you should just text me through this app and we’ll discuss your alternative options.

    Underrated
Same as others, thanks to Pete Holmes for revealing this gem to so many. Certainly wouldn’t have found it without him. Now I’m hooked. I’m on my third listen and can’t stop recommending it to people. It’s become a litmus test to see how close of friends we should be. I’ve even bought a couple of the jingles from iTunes because I can’t get them out of my head. Keep up the good work Mr. Duguay!!! And thank you for making these episodes. You’ve got a lot of talent in your writing and a brilliant sense of humor.

    Genius
Thanks to Pete Holmes for bringing me to this phenomenal show

    I like it fine.
If you need a podcast that’s fine. This is it baby. It’s not so interesting that you forget to do stuff, but it’s interesting enough that you don’t turn it off. It’s good enough, and you can’t do much better than that. But you could do it, but not that much.

    A perfect artifact
Superego took 2 seasons to become this perfectly formed. So many quotable lines, I’d buy a leather-bound transcript of the episodes. Where is S3!

    A Masterpiece
No other podcast based in the Rancho Equestrian District of Burbank keeps me as well-informed about the news in our neighborhood. Incredible investigative reporting on Gary Janthony’s car wash, though I think Doug has been a little hard on Dr. Fernari. Hands down the best local podcast this side of Karate Trophy City.

Thank you for this community service. I can’t tell exactly where you are, but I’m so appreciative of people who keep an eye out on what’s happening locally. I know Rancho, but not sure of where you are in Rancho. Do you know the Costco over on Victory? I’m up over there. Anyway, even though we do not have a decent car wash over here (remember Robert Domingo’s Hand Wash, sigh), I would not want that beeping keeping me up at night. Keep up the good work!

Pete Holmes thank you for the recommendation
Heard the title of this on Pete’s show and started the journey. Absolutely genius!!! I’m starting from the beginning, and will continue to tell others

    Unique, hilarious, LOL
I listen to a lot of podcasts. They start to fall into categories and sound alike. Valley Heat is unlike anything else I’ve heard. The characters, the music, the musings of Doug, his family, the transitions lenses. It’s just so funny. Kind of like Arrested Development for your ears. Someone make it for Netflix!

When you got to the last sponsor. Can’t wait for the rest. I can’t believe this is real.

    Pete Holmes recommends? I listen.
Heard Pete Holmes and Val raving about this on We Made it Weird…he’s never let me down before and the record stands. I’m hooked.

    Amazing production
Genuinely hilarious and such stellar production. A great way to kill some time when you’ve got nothing else to do on Mondays or after 3 on Wednesdays.

    Even the ads are amazing
I love this show. It’s chill, funny, original and they really commit 😄

The bar might be too high
I’m not sure how to follow this one up or if I even can. 5/5. Whoever gave it one star is a hater 🤣

    Thanks a lot.…
Since listening to this podcast, I have had to seek medical attention because I doubled over laughing too hard and pulled a muscle. The karate trophy that I was moving at the time also broke, because I was laughing at Valley Heat. My wife also hates me — that’s not really new—but she said that she is sick of hearing me quote the show. Anyway, 5 stars. You’re all right by me.

    OMGGGGG u have to listen
This podcast is amazing. By S1, Episode 6, I was laughing out loud on my walk as I listened to it. I had to order a "cephalopods are people" shirt and subscribe to the Patreon because this pod deserves support. At first, I feared the banality would be a waste of time, but quickly realized that the layering is absurd, genius, and wonderful.

I know why it’s funny but I don’t know why it is so f*ing funny
    Five stars

    Just Listen.
It’s a show that’s also a journey from Magnolia Blvd. to Riverside and back, and I’m here for all of it.

This podcast should be taught in schools.

    Danger!
I laughed so hard once, I almost had to pull over the car, I couldn’t see through my tears. What an excellent and unique podcast!

    Had me in stitches
Commit !! And do not fast forward (you will anyway). One of the reviews I read remarked the show is art and I couldn’t agree more. Hard to find unique storylines these days. Well done Doug Dougay.

    Informative
The very best way to stay up to date on the events in and around the Rancho Equestrian District of Burbank, California. I personally love to listen as a way to wind down after an intense game of foosball or some Chicago-style go karting. It’s also great for fans of the band Cephalopods Are People.

    Funny and Original
I did not expect to totally fall in love with this podcast but here we are. I catch myself singing the jingles and am on relisten x3! I can’t stop repeating after Green Banana “Michael Douglas? Michael? Michael??” I can’t stop and won’t stop, you can’t make me!
  • youngwerter
    Inventive and Surprising
Doug plays everything like he’s narrating live, but the narrative is actually great writing. He creates so many unique quirks, but they are always surprising, never becoming easy catch phrases that ruin comedy. The Alt Cheers theme is called “Friends,” when he’s reading copy for “high handlebar” motorcycles he never says “chopper,” and Phil’s transition lenses seem pretty BTK but he never says “serial killer.” I wish this show renewed more often…! (and, Duct Tape Artisans do not need ampersands)

Laughing out loud in front of people
Actually they’re my employees and they think I’m insane. Best comedy ever

    Comedy Perfection
I can’t begin to guess how many times I’ve re-listened to this podcast from start to finish (enough to be able to sing along with the ad jingles). I have told so many friends abt this show since I found it, and everyone who has taken my advice has thanked me for it. To anyone who might complain about the timing of episodes, I simply say this-I’d rather have an episode of a podcast this good constantly meeting (and exceeding) expectations than 10 episodes of one meeting a weekly timetable and adhering to a formula that grows stale simply for the sake of content. Also, follow the Patreon. It’s worth every penny.

Just joined the patreon and am lying in bed in the dark laughing until i cannot see through the tears. Best thing ever

    Absurd and hilarious
Saw a great write-up in The NY Times and decided to listen. I happen to live in the Valley so it makes it all the better. The ads alone are worth the listen!
  • Listener0970
    Great show
Couldn’t stop laughing, also I was able to steal an audio yes sticker, so if you want it, meet me at janthoneasys night garage.

    Not buying it
Seems very fake, like bad acting. Loads of ads and silly interactions. I’m not buying it.
  • GrizzlyPorcupine98
A great neighborhood podcast, even if you don’t live in the ‘hood
Valley Heat is a fun witty slice-of-life podcast about the Rancho Equestrian District of Burbank. It is like watching several train wrecks at a time (In a good way). I am glad to know where to get a used foosball table in the greater Burbank area. I hope it continues beyond season 2.

    So F…..Funny
What a great poscast….often times cars next to me at red lights laugh at me laughing at the poscast in the car. Kinda creepy….

    I cannot stop laughing
This is the funniest piece of media out there. I have never laughed so hard in my life.
  • daleeper
    Brilliant!
This reminds me of a combination of the (infamously awful) Nextdoor app and a somewhat toned down Tim Robinson. It all makes sense and is absurd at the same time.
